KB Toys Files for Bankruptcy, Shutters 277 Stores and 11,000 Employees

The Christmas shopping season is the big profit buffet for most retailers, but the economy is so poor this year that some retailers are already announcing bankruptcy plans... even during the hottest shopping season of the year!
KB Toys has joined the ranks of retailers filing for bankruptcy, announcing its plans to stage a series of liquidation sales in an attempt to blow out its final inventory during the last two shopping weeks of the year. It will likely close all 277 stores immediately after the holiday season, ending the jobs of up to 11,000 workers.
KB Toys appears to be yet another casualty of the collapsing brick-and-mortar retail sector, but there's one sector where retailing has a bright future: Online!
