Diabetes Drugs Avandia and Actos Double Risk of Bone Fractures in WomenBy Mike Adams, December 10, 2008 | Key concepts: Avandia, Diabetes drugs and Bone fractures Why do so many elderly diabetic women have bone fractures each year? Part of the reason is because large numbers of such women are taking Avandia and Actos, two diabetes drugs that have just been scientifically proven to double the risk of bone fractures in diabetic women.Avandia is already well known to significantly raise the risk of heart attacks. Keep in mind these are drugs that have been proven "safe" by the FDA. That declaration was made long before these risks were known, indicating that the FDA routinely approves drugs even when it has no clear understanding of their actual safety risks. All diabetes drugs are medically unnecessary in the first place, since blood sugar regulation can be achieved in just a few days by the patient making fundamental dietary changes. Even wildly elevated blood sugar readings (over 1,000) can be brought down to normal ranges, without any medication at all, by pursuing a raw foods diet. Today, diabetes is routinely cured through nutritional therapies that include the complete avoidance of refined, processed foods and sugars. Diabetes isn't actually a "disease" as much as it's simply a physiological effect of poor dietary choices. That's why it's so easy to reverse type-II diabetes. They need to be taught how to control their own blood sugar through food choice and basic exercise. The diabetes industry, though, is far too profitable to begin teaching patients how to avoid diabetes medications. Instead, the conventional advice boils down to: "Eat more sugar, and control it with meds!" When people do that, they may fracture their bones or die of a heart attack due to the side effects of the drugs. Yet the industry keeps pushing the drugs anyway, even while ridiculously claiming "there is no cure for diabetes." Sure, there is no cure if you use THEIR drugs. They offer no cures at all. But cures are readily available outside the limited thinking of conventional medicine. How do I know? I used to be prediabetic myself, and I cured that condition with nutrition and exercise.
