Amgen Cancer Drug Kills More Patients than Placebo

Oops. It's not good when your new cancer drug actually kills people in the treatment group, even while the people in the placebo group aren't dying at all. This is a rough description of the results of a clinical trial of Amgen's new experimental cancer drug. The trial was cancelled because too many people were dying.
Amgen and Takeda have apparently hired the wrong researchers. Other drug companies have no problem fudging the data, "excusing" the dead people from the data set, or simply rewriting the study design after the fact in order to get the results they want. It's rare to see Big Pharma running experiments on a drug so dangerous that even their best professional statistical liars can't make the study appear to be beneficial, despite the fact that people are dropping dead.
Chemotherapy, after all, kills tens of thousands of American every year, and conventional medicine doctors and researchers don't seem to notice at all.
