Heavy metals in Ayurvedic medicines? If you've ever been to India, you'll know why. There are virtually zero safety regulations in place for these medicines, allowing contaminated products to be openly sold in the U.S. and elsewhere. I'm a big supporter of Ayurvedic medicine, but we've got to get the heavy metals out, folks.
From News.bbc.co.: A fifth of Indian herbal medicines sold on the internet contain potentially lethal substances, according to a new study in the United States. The study at Boston university analysed 193 products and found that 20% of them contained lead, mercury or arsenic.... more
