Pattern of child murder and violence against women emerges among GMO science proponents

(NaturalNews) Some of the most vociferous defenders of genetically modified foods and GM science also happen to have engaged in some of the worst personal behavior, advocating mass child death, engaging in child and spousal abuse and using their positions of influence within their academic community to attack and smear legitimate researchers.

In recent months Natural News has exposed some of the worst of these abusers; consider this article merely the latest in our bid to continue those efforts. After all, our readers have a right to know not only what they advocate, but who they are personally and what kind of people they can be.

Three scientists of different disciplines share a common disregard for human life

Doug Powell is a major GMO advocate based at the University of Guelph, in the city of Guelph, Ontario province, Canada, which is a few hours west of Buffalo, New York. According to an online profile of Powell cited by GM Watch, Powell is an associate professor in the Department of Plant Agriculture. In addition, he is listed as the scientific director for Guelph's Food Safety Network, which was once known as the Agri-Food Risk Management and Communications Project.

"Canada is one of the world's largest producers of genetically modified crops and Powell is a keen supporter of the technology. A member of the Ontario Bt-corn coalition, Powell accuses those who criticize GM crops of engaging in 'sound bite science' that has 'everything to do with political opportunism and nothing to do with food safety,'" GM Watch noted.

He is also a raucous opponent of any efforts to force the labeling of GMO foods. He was quoted in a piece by PR Canada as saying:

Mandatory labeling is not about creating choice at all. It's about targeting products, creating retailer nervousness and customer fears and ultimately removing choice from the marketplace. It's happened in many European countries and Australia, where retailers have rushed to remove genetically modified ingredients from products rather than label. And in Ontario, major retailers have refused to carry labeled, genetically engineered sweet corn for fear of controversy. (That report is .)

Besides being an anti-GMO attack dog, Powell is not a nice person, either. A local Canadian media report noted in a Nov. 8, 2004, story that Powell pleaded guilty to assault after spitting in his girlfriend's face during a heated argument. The report went onto to note, "Powell has two prior criminal convictions for serious offences," in particular "two convictions from 1982 for criminal negligence causing death. Powell was sentenced to 17 months in jail after two of his friends died in a Brantford car crash."

Richard Dawkins is a top scientist who has what can only be described as an evil intent toward physically and mentally imperfect children: Namely, he advocates killing them.

As Natural News reported in October, Dawkins has made no secret of Joseph Mengala-like preference of aborting Down syndrome babies and other children who he simply does not approve:

Richard Dawkins recently stated publicly on Twitter that it's the moral thing to abort babies with Down syndrome before they have a chance to be born. The Twitter conversation began with Dawkins displaying a picture of pro-life supporters in Ireland - a country that does not endorse abortion or subsidize it. Dawkins criticized Ireland for its pro-life stance, writing, "Ireland is a civilized country except in this 1 area."

One woman questioned Dawkins' tweet, asking, "994 human beings with Down syndrome deliberately killed before birth in England and Wales in 2012. Is that civilized?"

Dawkins replied, endorsing mass premeditated death of children with Down syndrome, "Yes, it is very civilized. These are fetuses, diagnosed before they have human feelings."

Which begs a couple of questions: Where does Dawkins draw the line on eliminating such children? And who is he to decide the limits of a parent's love and patience when raising such children? Why does he assume only he has the moral authority to make such determinations? And what would he think should happen to him if he developed some sort of debilitating mental or physical defect post-birth?

Jon Entine is one of the most controversial pseudo-academics Natural News has profiled recently, beginning with a multipart series on him by editor Mike Adams, the Health Ranger. Entine is long known as a biotech shill and pesticide apologist, committed physical violence against his wife and psychologically traumatized his own daughter, according to court documents.
