(NaturalNews) Improving one's sex life and enhancing libido are popular topics among mainstream media and self-help books. Unfortunately, there are many conflicting methods and often these methods involve synthetic pharmaceutical drugs that cause other more serious health problems than the original libido problem. There are effective natural methods for enhancing libido, however.

To spice up a sexual relationship or improve intimacy, try some of these suggestions:

1.Go Dancing - Dancing builds self-confidence and this is extremely important to building healthy, intimate relationships. Whether alone or with a partner, whether done well or not, dancing is a great way to get moving and feel good.

2.Exercise - Exercise helps create a sexy body and it creates energy and stamina. It also improves flexibility. Couples who exercise together can create a tighter bond in their relationship. Exercise also increases self-esteem and this is very important for a good sex life.

3.Try Music - The right music can enhance a sexy mood and also helps to create an atmosphere of intimacy. Certain songs often trigger emotional responses and sensual feelings in people.

4.Communication - Try giving very specific requests to your partner for things you enjoy using only verbal instructions. Even if difficult, don't give up. This is an effective way to see the results of what you are communicating and to feel good about one's body.

There are many causes of sexual dysfunction or a low sex drive. Some of the most common causes are:

-Renal or urological
-Environmental toxins
-General systemic health problems

The good news is that there are herbs that are effective for improving libido issues.

-Gentiana lutea radix powder - A tonic herb that is used to for improving optimal functioning of all organs in the body.

-Turnaria aphrodisiaca - A nervous system stimulant that is an aphrodisiac and a tonic for the female reproductive organs. It is often used to increase energy and libido.

-Smilax ornata (Sarsaparilla) - Contains ingredients that mimic the action of some human hormones. Often it is used to improve sexual functioning or as a rejuvenating tonic.

-NN Diemethylglycine (DLG) - Effective in reducing the pain of angina, improving circulation, reducing high cholesterol and blood pressure, and helps improve immune system functioning.

-Sabal serrulata - Acts as a stimulant on sexual functioning and also improves female health.

Another destructive force against libido is stress. Stress has many negative impacts and the libido is not immune from the effects of stress. Stress affects every area of the human body and leads to many health problems and an important thing to realize is that stress is harmful even when not extreme. Even prolonged, low-grade stress is harmful. In fact, it may even be more damaging than the stress that is created by crisis situations because the damage is not immediately apparent.

When one begins to exhibit stress-related symptoms (such as a decreased sex drive) one may have been exhibiting these symptoms for such a period of time that they have begun to accept them as normal.

The best thing to try to improve one's sex life is to reduce stress levels. Often just by trying things like meditation, exercise, dance, laughter, massage, and hobbies stress levels can be effectively reduced and all aspects of life (including intimacy) can become much more enjoyable.
