Roomba 530 Vacuum Robot Product Review

A NaturalNews PhotoTour by Mike Adams

The new Roomba 500 series models all include a NiMH battery. That's Nickel Metal Hydride, which is not only a far better performing battery (faster charge times, no memory effect, longer life than NiCads), but is also far safer for the environment. The use of NiCad batteries in previous Roomba models earned the company quite a bit of criticism (and deservedly so), but these new NiMH batteries offer strong performance.

As you can see in this picture, the front of the Roomba robot has a bumper that allows the robot to sense when it has bumped into something and needs to turn or rotate away. This bumper works extremely well, and unlike in previous models where Roomba would simply bump into things at full speed, this new 500 series Roomba actually senses when it's getting close to something, then slows down to bump it at a much slower speed.

One other significant difference in the new Roomba vs. old Roombas is that the new 500 series Roomba is significantly quieter! I remember the old Roombas making so much noise that they scared my dog out of the room, but the new Roomba is so quiet that it's a lot less scarier to animals. And yet, somehow, it hasn't given up any power! As you'll see in upcoming photos, it does a remarkable job of picking up dirt, dust, hair and even small bits of trash.
