Climate Depot Executive Director Marc Morano blasted Biden for his green tyranny and for bypassing American voters during an appearance on "The Bottom Line with Dagen and Duffy" on Fox Business. He told program hosts Dagen McDowell and Sean Duffy: "We never had a vote; it's all been decided with executive orders, mid-level bureaucrats, corporate-government collusion [and] executive agencies."
"Make no mistake: It's the climate policy that poses a threat, not climate change. Do we need to abolish the gas-powered car? Do we need to start limiting meat eating? The answer's no to both, but even if you believed it … you would have democracy involved, people voting, you would have timetables."
Morano continued: "When you see all those headlines, what you see is that they are selling fear … because when you are afraid, you make poor decisions and you allow authoritarians to take over. I say we take a pause and go after the entire net zero agenda."
The expert's comments took aim at Biden's signing of the Inflation Reduction Act in August 2022, which had provisions seeking to advance the green agenda. The act earmarked $370 billion to combat climate change, and also included a $7,500 tax credit for electric vehicles (EVs).
Despite this tax credit and other subsidies provided by the Biden administration, EV sales remain low. Only 10 percent of Americans who participated in a BlueAnalytics poll in October said they would purchase an EV. The same poll also found that 40 percent of respondents know "nothing at all" about the tax credit for electric cars. Biden also canceled oil leases in Alaska in September, while proposing new regulations to limit energy production from fossil fuels. These leases were issued by the Trump administration in a bid to bolster America's energy independence. "Economic and energy experts have criticized Biden's hostility to domestic fossil fuel production, which some say has caused higher energy prices," reported the Daily Caller.
Morano also recounted to McDowell and Duffy the dismal track record of "green" policies, as seen in Sri Lanka and the Netherlands. "It's climate policy, not climate change, that is going to drive migration – people in droves leaving California and other states," he said.
"What we're finding is people in Sri Lanka followed climate policy to the collapse of their government. Their presidential palace was overrun. The farmers in the Netherlands were subjected to climate policy, and they almost crushed all the small family-run farms."
The Climate Depot executive director also hit back at former Vice President Al Gore for his climate alarmism rhetoric. Gore, who served under former President Bill Clinton, engaged in climate advocacy after his White House term ended in 2001.
"Gore is talking about a world where he and his friends at the [United Nations], the [World Economic Forum] and now, the [World Health Ogrganization] are going to control our food and agricultural decisions. They are using climate fear to literally restrict and collapse energy, agriculture, transportation, go right after our freedom of movement."
