Stress expert claims the media is to blame for post-Trump unrest

Mainstream media

(NaturalNews) The complete meltdown of some millennial snowflakes and the unrest following President-elect Donald J. Trump's victory over Hillary Clinton is a direct result of the corrupt establishment media, most of which was blatantly and chronically against the Republican billionaire.

Breitbart News reports that Dr. Pete Sulack, a stress expert and founder of the site, StressRX.com, said the media's false portrayal of Trump as Nazi-like, a bigot, a racist and a homophobe is responsible for a lot of the fear and anger.

"The media is partly to blame for actively fueling fears of some kind of Nazi regime under a Trump presidency," Sulack told Breitbart, via e-mail. "In part this is because problems and pain sell advertising space. Mass communications has always struggled with that balance between fair reporting, personal bias, and pressure from executives to keep things 'hot.'"

"Hot" is one thing, but being patently disrespectful of one candidate over the other, while printing horrible allegations about him that are not justifiable, is another.

Hate disguised as journalism isn't 'news'

Sulack also said that people are responding negatively to anti-Trump images on social media and TV. He said that when we read, we are able to rationally discuss issues or definitions of terms that we encounter, but seeing pictures involves a different part of our brain.

"That part is the limbic brain, a part also activated in stressful situations, because it is key to survival," he said, adding it is also the most primitive and undeveloped portion of our brains.

"It acts on emotion, is irrational, childish, and afraid," Sulack said. "It can be rude and boorish, and sometimes even cruel."

He went to note that many voters who are distraught over the election results feel as though there is no hope and that they have no power. In order to better deal with such emotions, he recommended replacing alcohol and caffeine with dark chocolate, "tree nuts or nut butters," and leafy green vegetables like kale.

Jamison Monroe, teen mental health expert and founder and CEO of Newport Academy, a rehabilitation facility, added that indeed, the media is fueling some of the anxiety. But a lot of it is coming from social media, where information is widely shared even if it's not accurate.

"Media greatly influences people's thoughts and opinions. However, teens are very influenced by their peer groups, so reading their peers' political opinions on social platforms has just as much influence, for this is where a majority of millennials get their news from," he said.

In addition, he explained that stressful feelings were not just set off by the results of the election, but rather were fomenting and seething throughout the entire divisive campaign between Trump and Clinton. What we're seeing now – the outrage and outbursts – are more of a "snowball effect of emotions" that built up over the long, grueling months.

Mainstream reporter admits the MSM missed the big Trump story because it was too biased

He recommended meditation and avoiding all social media. He said that many people will post their thoughts about the election on various social media platforms, while election posts are currently filling most peoples' news feeds.

Natural News founder/editor Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, has a slightly different take on the media, and its role in the just-finished election. He writes that the Left-wing mainstream media is responsible for the lion's share of the hate that flows throughout the country, and that it will continue until Americans render the media purveyors of hate moot.

"As I'm asking myself when I'm going to return Natural News to its usual format of covering health, nutrition and disease prevention, I'm struck by the realization that the left wing media is now the single greatest cause of psychological stress and mental illness in America," he wrote. "While Hillary Clinton's campaign slogan was 'Stronger Together,' the mainstream media has decided to pursue a campaign of division, sabotage and hate. It is unacceptable. It must be stopped."

He's right, of course. Even a writer at CBS News has admitted that the MSM was so over-the-top against Trump that it actually missed the biggest political story of the century thus far: How he won.
