Leftist media exploits Charleston shooting to incite racial tensions while ignoring actual facts

(NaturalNews) Another mass shooting has occurred, but this one appears to have a racial element to it. Yet the manner in which it is being reported by the mainstream press is full of hypocrisy.

On Thursday, 21-year-old Dylann Roof, who is white, walked into the historically black AME Church in Charleston, S.C., and shot and killed nine African American worshippers in an act of senseless violence that may have even been motivated by another dangerous mind-altering drug, as Natural News has reported on past shootings (also here, from Mike Adams, the Health Ranger). According to news reports, Roof, who displayed a Confederate flag on his auto license plate, apparently said this before he started shooting: "You rape our women and you're taking over our country. And you have to go."

Predictably, the legacy and mainstream media are portraying this primarily as an issue caused by an inherently racist society, despite the fact that prior mass murders have involved other places of worship, public places and deaths involving mostly white victims. And, as noted by InfoWars correspondent Paul Joseph Watson, the media is ignoring a number of other facets of this story.

"Here's what they're not telling you"

"Liberals are hastily exploiting this tragic incident to fabricate the myth that there are armies of white people waiting to commit violent hate crimes against blacks," he said in this just-released video.

"They're even advocating that only white people be disarmed," he added, showing a series of tweets on the screen, one of which read, "#CharlestonShooting the sooner we start taking guns away from white people and police, the better."

"Here's what they're not telling you," Watson continued. "There's no wave of hate crimes being committed by whites against black people. Justice Department figures show that black people comprise 13 percent of hate crime victims, a figure in line with their population numbers.

"White people, on the other hand, comprise 65 percent of hate crime victims," he added. "And from 2003 to 2006, black people comprised just 7 percent of hate crime victims."

He also noted that, based on the Justice Department statistics, blacks were responsible for half of all homicides in the U.S., even though they only comprise 13 percent of the population.

Figures show "that between 1980 and 2008," he said, "blacks committed 52 percent of homicides, compared to 45 percent of homicides committed by whites."

"There's clearly a problem of violent criminality within the black community, but hardly anyone is talking about it," Watson noted. "Despite being outnumbered by whites five-to-one, blacks commit eight times more crimes against whites than vice versa, according to FBI statistics."

He also notes that – again, according to the government's own statistics – a black male is 40 times more likely to assault a white person than the other way around.

Truth isn't important – only the political agenda

"Incidents involving hate crimes, including murders, where the perpetrator is black and the victim is white, are almost universally ignored by the mainstream media," Watson went on. "For years, the phenomenon of overwhelmingly black people randomly attacking white people on the street was disguised by the press, calling it 'the knockout game,' when it reality it represented a disturbing wave of violent black-on-white hate crime.

"And once again," he continued, "we're seeing this dumb argument made by liberals who claim that the Charleston shooting isn't being called an act of terrorism simply because the perpetrator is white."

When whites commit politically motivated acts of terror, he said – the textbook definition of "terrorism" – they are summarily labeled as such.

"Bill Ayers, Ted Kaczynski, Timothy McVeigh, Eric Rudolph" – all white – "they were all denounced as terrorists," said Watson.

Yet, when a black suspect allegedly killed two New York City police officers in a "hands up/don't shoot" revenge killing, which was definitely politically motivated, he was not charged as a terrorist, Watson pointed out.
