(NaturalNews) On a recent episode of Food Unwrapped on Channel 4, a TV presenter named Jimmy Doherty claimed that tap water is healthier than purified water. Claims like this are keeping people misinformed about the plethora of toxic elements that are coming from the tap, blocking nutrient absorption and poisoning the brain.

For example, most municipal water in the US is intentionally and by law loaded with waste sodium fluoride that contains arsenic and other heavy metals. Sodium fluoride has been shown to calcify the pineal gland. This gland, located in the center of the skull, plays an important role in melatonin production and regulating circadian rhythm and sleep/wake cycles. Using ICP-MS instrumentation, The Health Ranger, Mike Adams, also found that fluoride lots imported from China are also full of toxic elements like lead, tungsten, strontium, aluminum and uranium.

Official sources support the mass medication (mass poisoning) of water with sodium fluoride because it is assumed to be good for dental health, but even and lowers the IQ of children.

In the end, who gets to decide what's best for everyone's mind, body, and dental health? Regulators shouldn't sit idly and permit a toxic waste element to be dripped into an entire town's water supply. Your body is your property; that's why learning how to properly purify water is essential for protecting the cells from sodium fluoride and a host of toxic elements. Believing that tap water is healthier than purified water is a surefire way to fuel the cells daily with toxic elements that change the very nature of cells and cellular functions.

Pesticides, pharmaceutical runoff, and heavy metals all contaminate tap water

Sodium fluoride is just the beginning of tap water woes. In fact tap water can contain fertility-damaging pesticides, gut-destructive glyphosate, and a witches brew of pharmaceutical runoff that can wreak havoc on the body's natural balance. Tap water also contains foreign sources of brain-damaging aluminum, cadmium, and lead. Once inside the body, these elements compete for space, blocking the utilization of key nutrients. For example, lead often has greater affinity for calcium binding sites in the body. If lead occupies the site first, then calcium isn't absorbed and utilized.
Do people ever consider that toxic tap water is keeping them malnourished?

According to Food Unwrapped with Jimmy Doherty, tap water is giving people extra nutrition! In his presentation he shows how hard tap water actually invites a little extra calcium into a person's diet. On this alone, he claims that tap water is better than purified water. He claims that by drinking one liter of hard tap water a day, one can provide their body with a fifth of the daily requirement of calcium. He fails to mention the possibility that tap water contains lead which competes with calcium in the body.

On top of that, depending on where a person lives, the calcium level of the tap water may be so low that one would have to drink a bathtub full of it to equate to the amount one could get from a handful of almonds or a cup of broccoli.

Proper water purification removes heavy metals found in tap water and increases nutrient utilization

At the end of the day, who really wants to guess what's in their water? Ignorance is not bliss. Who wants to depend on hard municipal water for a tiny amount of calcium that may be blocked by lead in the tap water anyway? This is why purified water is so important.

Trading out tap water and bottled water for truly purified water is one the best steps anyone can take toward bettering their overall health and quality of life. Avoiding things like lead, arsenic, and aluminum allows the nutrition from foods to be better absorbed and utilized by the body.
