(NaturalNews) Women taking fish oil are sometimes pleased - or alarmed - to discover a common side effect: becoming spontaneously orgasmic. On higher-than-normal doses, women often see increased libido and enjoy faster, stronger and more plentiful orgasms. As outlined in The Orgasmic Diet, this and several other dietary factors contribute to adding explosive heat to the bedroom, but men beware: following this regimen will likely only lead to premature ejaculation.

How to use fish oil

Fish oil is constituted of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, both lacking in American diets. As a general guideline, a 130 pound woman should aim to take 1700 mg EPA and 1300 mg DHA daily, a 170 pound woman should take 2500 mg EPA and 2000 mg DHA daily, and a 230 pound woman should take 3400 mg EPA and 2600 mg DHA daily. These amounts may be scaled down for someone as light as 100 pounds, but lighter women are cautioned against the regimen.

Work up to taking this amount gradually over about two weeks. But the highest-quality fish oil you can afford, as these will have fewer contaminants and cause less digestive discomfort.

Though author Marrena Lindberg is skeptical that vegetarian sources of omega-3s like flax and chia seed can have the same effect, you may want to test these sources (or others like marine phytoplankton) for yourself.

Foods to avoid

Omega-6 fatty acids, by far the most abundant in the American diet, counteract fish oil's verve, so avoid polyunsaturated plant oils such as corn, soybean, cottonseed, and safflower. Instead, use saturated and monounsaturated fats and oils such as butter and coconut, olive and canola oils.

Soy, hormonal birth control methods, caffeinated drinks and processed sugary and starchy foods all disrupt the balanced hormonal levels that lead to phenomenal sex, so these should be reduced as much as possible. A cup of coffee in the morning is acceptable if sex is left to the evening.

Additional suggestions:

  • Take the recommended daily allowance of calcium, magnesium and zinc for additional hormonal support
  • Eat half an ounce of good-quality dark chocolate daily. This should include at least 70 percent cacao.
  • Supplement with 3000 mg of the root vegetable maca daily in powder or capsule form
  • Try the Indian herb ashwaghanda in a dose of 300 mg two to three times daily
  • Exercise and increasing healthy fats in the diet may help if libido remains low

About three quarters of women report a dramatic increase in libido and ease of orgasm after about six weeks on this regimen. But take caution: fish oil thins the blood and should not be taken with aspirin, any drug that interacts with aspirin, or blood thinners. Stop taking it before surgery as well. Finally, if your partner is too exhausted for work in the morning, you may want to consider reducing your dose.
