Teen cancer court decision is no victory for health freedom

Statement by Mike Adams, health freedom advocate: Any celebration of the court decision on the matter of Abraham Cherrix's cancer treatment would be greatly misplaced. This was no victory for health freedom.

The court did not rule in favor of the freedom of Abraham Cherrix by stating that it had no business dictating medical treatments for individuals who supposedly live in a "free" nation. Rather, the court continues to insist that it has ownership of Cherrix's body and that he shall be ALLOWED to be treated by a complementary medicine doctor who practices both chemotherapy and herbal medicine.

In a truly free society, the court would have said, "We have no business dictating your medical treatment. Choose whatever treatment you wish, Abraham, and may you live a long life as a free citizen of a free nation."

But that is not what happened. Not only was Cherrix ordered to see a cancer doctor negotiated by the court, his parents must also report Abraham's health status to the court every 18 months. In other words, the court remains in control over Abraham's body, and if the reports don't bring good news, the court may once again decide to order Abraham into some other treatment of its choosing.

FREEDOM, my friends, is not being granted a temporary right by the courts to pursue a system of medical treatment that should be your divine right in the first place. It is only tyranny packaged in the illusion of choice. Cherrix is no more free today than before this court decision, and health freedom remains universally suppressed in the "land of the free."
