Sobering statistics about cancer explain the crucial need for preventative health in America

Cancer

(NaturalNews) Learning you have cancer can be an extremely frightening experience, especially since most people don't know how to prevent it and, more importantly, how to fight it – effectively – once they get it. Learn more about the TRUTH about CANCER, through the nine-part series that will be available online FREE to watch beginning April 12.

There are reasons for the fear of cancer, none of which is irrational, because there is so much that most people don't know about the disease.

-- For instance, did you know that one in every eight deaths is linked to cancer? It's true, but the mainstream media and traditional medicine pushers are mostly concerned with preventing of mostly non-existent diseases and those which don't threaten to kill you, like polio and measles (hence the big vaccine push for both). You'll notice, of course, there is no vaccine or other Big Pharma cure for cancer yet, even though developed countries have a much higher incidence of cancer, where people have shunned the once-well-known healing power of clean food, pure water and air that is not polluted.

-- According to Ty Bollinger, noted cancer researcher, people 65 years of age and older in developed countries make up 58 percent of the cancer diagnoses, while in developing countries, the 65-and-above rate drops to about 40 percent.

-- Getting fewer than six hours of good sleep a night actually boosts your risk of developing colon cancer. Recent studies also indicated that a there is a higher cancer risk among people who work mostly at night, Bollinger noted, adding that "the benefit of healing sleep is one of the most underestimated ways to keep your body strong and cancer-free."

-- The incidence of cancer in children is rising every year, he says. In fact, in the U.S. alone, more than 40 of our children are diagnosed with a form of cancer every single day, based on the most current statistics he cited. Each year, 175,000 children are diagnosed, making cancer the number one disease killer of children.

-- Environmental risks are raising our chances of getting cancer. Air pollution, water pollution and contaminants in our food from agricultural pesticides and herbicides are all contributing to the rise in cancer. These pollutants even affect us in our homes and places of employment, where we spend the bulk of our time.

-- Speaking of food, the processed meats we consume regularly are also giving us cancer. That includes hot dogs, bacon, sausage and especially those cold cuts we so eagerly pick up at the store. All of these foods contain nitrates, Bollinger says – chemical additives used in processed meats to preserve them and add flavor. And those nitrates are then converted to nitrites when combined with heat and our body's digestive chemicals. Nitrites are a known carcinogen.

-- Cancer affects both men and women, though certain cancers are more common in men and some in women. "Breast, colorectal, lung & bronchus, cervical, and stomach cancer are the most common types worldwide for which women are diagnosed (new cases) according to statistics gathered by" the World Health Organization, he says. In fact, one-third of new cancer cases involving women are those involving breast cancer.

In men, lung and bronchus, prostate, colorectal, stomach, and liver are the most common types, with colon cancer being the most common type afflicting American men.

-- As you've often heard, no doubt, obesity is an epidemic, especially in the developed West, and in the U.S. and Mexico in particular. Voluminous research supports the contention that obesity dramatically increases the incidence of cancer.

There is much more to learn about cancer – how it is caused, what can be done to prevent it and, importantly, how it can be treated naturally.
