(NaturalNews) Hollywood spends billions (and earns billions) a year making films that denigrate American culture and history. But now, a new Kickstarter campaign aims to raise just $50,000 to market a film that praises America and focuses on restoring our unique brand of personal liberty and individual freedom.

According to a trailer of the film "Liberty: A documentary about freedom in America," it is "a documentary film exploring the 'liberty movement' in the United States and the aftermath of the Ron Paul revolution."

A trailer for the film opens with a montage of televised incidents involving what appears to be police-related violence against citizens in various situations, some involving physical abuse while others feature police shootings.

Those scenes are followed by a quote from Dr. Paul, which states: "An idea whose time has come cannot be stopped by any army or any force."

Next, the trailer features interview segments with noted activists. The first, Michael Boldin, founder of the Tenth Amendment Center, an organization that focuses on restoring federalism and states' rights, says, "Freedom to me is just the absence of violence towards people. It's being able to act freely."

"When you believe in liberty, you can always appeal to people"

His comments are followed by additional views on freedom by other activists:
  • Tatiana Moroz, a musician and founder of Crypto Media Hub: Liberty is "the ability to do whatever I want, as long as it's not hurting somebody else."
  • Cindy Lake, activist: Liberty is "minding my own business and staying out of other people's business."
  • Patrick Morris, blogger and Sustainability Consultant: Liberty is "also taking responsibility for as many of your own needs as you can."
  • Barry Ness, libertarian author and speaker: Liberty "is respect for the absolute right of the individual to be left absolutely alone."
  • Earnest Hancock, founder of Freedom's Phoenix, a rights and liberty-oriented publication: "Liberty is very simple. I cannot be free unless I can be left alone to have my own plan."
"Our crew is reaching out to those who truly want to live a life of liberty," says Neal Badimaker, the film's director, "to feel free to do the things that are most important to them, without fear of any force or aggression."

Adds Jeremiah Rounds, the film's producer, "Our film will be exploring the liberty movement in America beginning with the unifying [presidential] campaigns of Ron Paul in 2008 and 2012, and leading up to the current schools of thought and the ideologies that are prevalent today.

"But more than that," he continued, "we're looking forward to a future where liberty is not just an idea, but a way of life."

Next, Boldin says, "When you believe in liberty, you can always appeal to people whatever their general political viewpoint is."

"We all know words can be twisted to fit an agenda"

Hancock then says, "You do it peacefully, you do it, you know, with persuasion, you do it out of a sense of love, you do it because you want the best for you and your family. And that extends to everybody else's.

"There's no central plan for freedom," he added. "To think that you're going to vote yourself free means you have not been paying attention."

After a small montage of news clips, a narrator says, "I guarantee you in the future, government is going to get bigger, stronger, and is going to take more liberty that it does today" — a statement accompanied by scenes of unrest, social chaos and police crackdowns.

"We all know that anyone's words can be twisted to fit a given agenda," says Badimaker in the movie trailer. "That's why we'll be releasing every minute of footage we capture on a new distribution platform our team is currently developing.

Dr. Paul, 80, of Texas, retired from Congress in 2013 after serving nearly consecutively in the U.S. House since 1976. His son, Rand Paul, is a GOP senator from Kentucky and current Republican presidential contender.
