(NaturalNews) Prior to the 2004 presidential election between President George W. Bush and Democrat challenger Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, David N. Bossie, head of Citizens United – the organization that successfully sued to end corporate campaign donations limits – wrote a book titled The Many Faces of John Kerry.

Essentially, the book revealed various political positions Kerry once stood for over the course of his career, and how he often changed his positions in order suit his current political objectives. In other words, little of what he ever said could be relied upon, long term, as being accurate and honest.

Kerry – now President Obama's Secretary of State – certainly isn't the only elected official who is a political chameleon, but he has historically been one of the most prominent. Even so, Obama is giving him a run for his money.

During Obama's tenure, he has told so many half-truths and untruths, as well as created so many straw men and fabricated so many issues, that it has been difficult to keep track of all of them. Nevertheless, here are some of the more recent, and more well-known, reasons why the man simply cannot be trusted:

Planned Parenthood is a saint-like organization: In recent days following the release of videos showing high-ranking members of the country's largest provider of abortion services negotiating for the profitable sale of organs harvested from aborted babies, the president's spokesman, Josh Earnest, dismissed the videos as "fraudulent" and the work of "anti-abortion extremists," despite admitting that nobody in the White House cared enough to even view the videos. But just days later, during a trip to Africa, Obama had the gall to tell a group of young African leaders that the killing of humans and harvesting of their organs was "craziness" and a "cruel" tradition that needed to stop.

Voter fraud is a myth: Another narrative pushed by Obama and his Democrat Party, in their quest to thwart any and all efforts to protect the integrity of the ballot box by requiring all voters to produce a photo ID (proving citizenship and residency), is that no ID is necessary because voter fraud is non-existent. In recent days, during the White House's observation of the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Voting Rights Act, Obama said voter fraud was not a "real problem" because "nobody wakes up and says I'm going to go vote in somebody else's name." This is from a guy who hails from Chicago, a city where Democrat candidates have made careers out of voter fraud ("How many dead guys voted for you this time, Vinny?") Only, voter fraud is a constant threat to the integrity of our system, as documented here. Besides, if people have to have an ID to board a plane, buy liquor and cigarettes, get into public and federal buildings and so forth, why not require one to cast a vote deciding the fate of America's citizens?

President's lies appear bigger because of the weight they carry

Another favorite myth advanced by Obama is that voter ID laws are inherently racist and unfairly "target the poor." Studies have disproven that "theory." Also, most modern nations require some form of ID before allowing citizens to vote.

Finally, in most states, an "official" ID is free for the asking.

These are just a few of the many examples of Obama either intentionally misleading the public or lying to us straight up (how about the many broken promises surrounding Obamacare?).

While the president is not the only serial liar in politics, as the country's only nationally elected figure, his comments carry outsized influence. When the president is dishonest, it gives off the appearance that his entire administration is corrupt, immoral and motivated purely by political ideology.

No wonder Americans' faith in their government is at historic lows.
