(NaturalNews) Richard Horowitz, M.D., is scheduled to speak at The Thyroid Summit, an online event which begins June 2 and runs through June 9. His presentation will be titled "Could You Have Lyme Disease and Not Know It?"
According to his website, Horowitz is the best-selling author of the book Why Can't I Get Better?, which he says represents his "life's work over the last 26 years, diagnosing and treating over 12,000 chronically ill patients with Lyme disease."
"I have discovered that patients with chronic symptoms after classical treatment for Lyme disease have multi-factorial causes for their illness. I call this syndrome Lyme-MSIDS," he wrote. "MSIDS stands for Multiple Systemic Infectious Disease Syndrome, and represents sixteen potential overlapping medical problems contributing to persistent symptoms in patients with chronic illness."

"If you or a loved one is still suffering from unexplained symptoms of Lyme disease, or have been diagnosed with a chronic illness where your health care providers have not been able to provide answers for your symptoms, this book may help you to uncover the hidden causes of your illness," Horowitz said. "I wrote this book for you and your doctors, so that you could be empowered to finally find answers for your chronic persistent symptoms. Not only does this apply to individuals who have been diagnosed with Lyme and associated tick-borne disorders, but also applies to those who have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Auto-immune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and MS, or even psychological disorders where there is a multisystemic component.
"Lyme is the great imitator," he continued, "and is the number one vector borne epidemic spreading throughout the world, mimicking many other diseases. This book should help you and your health care provider navigate the maze of chronic illness, and put you back on the road to health."
Horowitz is a board-certified internist in private practice in Hyde Park, N.Y. He is medical director of the Hudson Valley Healing Arts Center, an integrative medical center which combines both classical and complementary approaches in the treatment of Lyme disease and other tick-borne disorders.
Horowitz has presented at numerous local, national and international scientific conferences on Lyme disease, and has published on the role of co-infections and toxins in Lyme borreliosis. He was awarded the Humanitarian of the Year award by the Turn the Corner Foundation for his treatment of Lyme disease.

These are the subjects Horowitz will cover:
Conventional blood tests don't detect Lyme: How to Uncover it Yourself.
How migraines, brain fog, fatigue and pain all mimic other disorders.
Night sweats and hot flashes may not be related to menopause.
Could you have Lyme disease and not know it? Many people do.
More than half of the population is suffering from thyroid problems, according to the event website. The summit will feature some 30 presentations about common medical problems tied to thyroid disease. In them, you'll learn why the thyroid gland is the master gland in your body -- every cell depends on thyroid hormone to function optimally.
If you're not aware of a thyroid problem, you could develop psychological, cardiovascular and neurological disorders. Medications for a variety of symptoms will never solve the problem, but optimizing your thyroid hormone with vitamins, minerals, dietary changes and the right medications can.
This summit will provide you with all the information you need to optimize thyroid function and stop the suffering once and for all:
--Learn why conventional medicine misses the diagnosis.
--Find out which thyroid tests will properly evaluate thyroid function.
--Educate yourself and learn how to speak with your medical professionals.
--Access safe and effective natural remedies from over 30 world-leading authorities.
