(NaturalNews) There is a standoff going on in our minds. There's a prideful ego battling our most honest humble selves. This ego infects our character. It feeds the negative forces of:

• Separation (from all that is honest and pure)
• Isolation (from connecting with others)
• Deprivation (of spiritual freedom)

This ego sickness ultimately infects us by isolating struggles within us. Pride powers the negative forces, holding our struggles within the mind, giving us an infectious, mental disease.

Fearing vulnerability, we allow this force of pride to isolate our most honest faults into a closet
in our mind. As secrets become hidden, the past stays with us, and we become dictated by our shortcomings. Our closeted faults begin to define us, rearing their ugly head in our character and daily lives.

Ego locks in mental illness

Ego is like the lock on that closet door, keeping our problems bolted in silence. As our inner infected psyche goes untreated, the disease spreads. We become all about our self, tearing down other people. We try to make ourselves look better. We control each other and feed on gossip.

How can we feel free inside, free from the darkest controls, labels, and evils? How can we embrace a positive force that lets the past go, humbling our bloated ego?

Honest confession and humility begins the healing process

In confession, honesty and sacrificial repentance, the positive begins to ride in. As we admit what's inside us, that we are wrong, we can now begin to deal with the problem - our self. Bringing the inner thoughts and struggles forward, we can begin to heal.

There is going to be pain, as the cancer inside is brought to light. There will be a moment of nakedness, of humility, letting it all go, but as the mucus is coughed up, we will begin to feel a sense of spiritual relief awakening inside us.

Sacrificing ego for a better life

It's our pride; we must humble ourselves. It's time to let go of what is pent up inside. As we acknowledge our struggles, we walk onto the path of personal change and empowerment. Toxic, evil thoughts are released. Their dark brand is peeled from our eternal existence. We learn to help
others. We don't just hear, but we begin to listen. We become free-spirited, less controlling - no longer controlled. In the wake of this rebirth, we begin to treat other people the way we would want to be treated.

There is a war raging within our minds, a showdown with everlasting implications - pride vs. humility. Thankfully, each individual possesses the free will to decide how they will live their life. Do we indulge in ourselves or do we take responsibility for our prideful ego? It's time to be honest with ourselves, for this is where healing begins.

Confession is powerful. As the faults of our existence are repented, we are graced into a state of impenetrable empowerment.

But in that empowerment, we must always keep a watchful eye on our ever-growing ego, which is always just around the corner, ready to capture us in its magnet of prideful deceit.

For all the good we can do, for all the greatness we attain, we must remember that we are not the source of the light.

• Pride loves to talk about self, whereas humility asks questions and loves dialogue.
• Pride thinks it knows, whereas humility has never found someone it couldn't learn something from.
• Pride uses conversation to broadcast itself, whereas humility uses conversation to explore what's unknown.
