(NaturalNews) While Obama, Bloomberg and all the usual suspects are screaming for the government to abolish the Second Amendment and force law-abiding citizens to turn in all their guns due to the actions of ONE deranged individual in Connecticut, nobody is really asking what it would mean for the future of self defense if guns were actually banned from citizens.
Obviously, a nationwide gun ban would only leave guns in the hands of criminals who, by definition, don't follow government laws and restrictions. The citizens would be completely disarmed, but the criminals would have plenty of firepower.
Here is Obama's new recipe for the self defense of disarmed citizens:
Step 1) You hear an intruder breaking and entering into your home.
Step 2) You dial 911 and begin to wait, hoping and praying the government will send somebody with a gun to protect you.
Step 3) The psychopathic killer who broke into your home finds you and kills you with an illegal handgun.
Step 4) Five more minutes go by, during which the killer also kills your pet cat, your gerbil and smashes your exotic fish aquarium. He then calmly leaves.
Step 5) Seven minutes after your call, the police show up. They find a dead body (yours) and proceed to start filling out paperwork and calling the coroner's office.
Obama's mission accomplished! Your sacrifice will never be covered on the evening news because it wasn't a "mass shooting." Any number of individual citizens can be murdered by criminals as long as it's one at a time, you see.
The Second Amendment recipe for self defense
Thanks to the Second Amendment of the U.S. Bill of Rights, the way home defense actually works in America today is a vast improvement over Obama's proposed recipe of disarmament:
Step 1) You hear an intruder breaking and entering into your home.
Step 2) You grab your Mossberg 500 pump-action shotgun that you keep beside your bed.
Step 3) You rack a round into the shotgun barrel and scream out, "I've got a shotgun. Leave or DIE!" (or, alternatively, you stay completely silent and just shoot the guy, your choice).
Step 4) The intruder reconsiders his actions, swipes your purse (or wallet) from the kitchen table and flees the area.
Step 5) You dial 911 to report your purse or wallet being stolen.
Step 6) The police come to fill out the paperwork for a stolen purse instead of a dead homeowner.
This is how self defense works with the Second Amendment.
We all want to protect the children
In the aftermath of the Sandy Hook shooting, everybody wants to do something to stop the violence. Obama has no monopoly on wanting to prevent random acts of violence -- the idea of protecting children is universal.
The real question is: What is the best METHOD of protecting children? Taking all the guns away from law-abiding citizens and leaving them in the hands of psychopathic criminals is not a method that will reduce violence. If anything, it will vastly increase home break-ins, street muggings and murder, because criminals would then see the entire nation as a "gun free zone." (A mass murder zone.)
The far better solution is to arm MORE citizens, including school personnel, so that the citizens can function as a kind of immune system against invading psychopaths.
More guns in the hands of law-abiding, upstanding citizens makes for a safer community. The answer here is concealed carry in the schools, on the streets, at the workplace and in government buildings.
Tear down those silly, delusional "gun free zone" signs at the public schools and put handguns into the hands of principals and school office staff. Make sure they're proficient, obviously, and make sure they pass all background checks like everybody else does when they apply for concealed carry permits.
This is how we save children and turn schools into "armed defense zones" where criminals will think twice before trying to pull off another mass shooting.
