(NaturalNews) What better way to commemorate the tragic events of September 11, than to target innocent air travelers with detention, interrogation, and even a strip search. That is exactly what happened to 35-year-old Shoshana Hebshi, a half-Arab, half-Jewish woman who was traveling home on a Frontier Airlines flight from Denver to Detroit on the ten-year anniversary of 9/11.
According to the Associated Press (AP), Hebshi and two other men sitting in her row, both of whom she did not know, were removed by authorities from the plane
after it had already landed in Detroit, for alleged "suspicious activity." Other passengers on the plane apparently saw the two men visiting the restroom a few times and became concerned -- and Hebshi ended up getting lumped in with them because, according to her own account, she has a dark, Middle Eastern appearance.
Hebshi writes on her blog that, upon landing in Detroit, "[m]ajorly armed cops" came aboard the plane and ordered her and the two men to get up and go with them. She claims she was then patted down and taken to a "holding cell," where a uniformed female officer told her to take off her clothes for a strip search. Shortly thereafter, an officer from the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) escorted Hebshi into another room for intense questioning. The entire process took over four hours.
It was later confirmed, of course, that not only did Hebshi have no connection with the other two men, but also that none of the three had done anything wrong at all. The one man was simply feeling ill, while the other had to make a normal trip to the restroom -- but because this happened to occur at roughly the same time, paranoid passengers on the plane became concerned and notified flight staff.
Such spying and reporting of "suspicious activity," of course, falls right in line with DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano's recent announcement instructing Wal-Mart shoppers to be on the lookout for terrorists, and to immediately report any "suspicious activity" to authorities:
