(NaturalNews) As a "health supplement" CO Q-10 is isolated mostly from beef heart (never from organically raised cows by the way, as that would be too expensive). This type of CO Q-10 is referred to as "Natural CO Q-10" even though it is an isolated substance. Then there is the "ever popular" totally synthesized way of making it in the lab from all synthetic compounds. This is called, believe it or not, "Vegetarian CO Q-10". Both of these methods, no matter who makes or endorses them, are really nothing more than pharma type drugs when you think about it (including the new "Ubiquinol Co Q-10"). Coenzyme Q-10 is a member of a family of compounds called ubiquinones. These are water-insoluble substances involved in electron transport and energy production in the mitochondria of our cells.
