Health freedom alert: Congress to ramrod FDA Reform Bill through House with no amendments allowed

This is an urgent health freedom alert from NewsTarget. The deadline is tight: A vote is scheduled on the House floor on Tuesday, July 10th, to pass HR 2900 while blocking all amendments and debate. This would disallow the pro-health freedom Emord amendments which Rep. Ron Paul is ready to introduce on the floor. But thanks to Majority leader Nancy Pelosi, who has placed HR 2900 on a "Suspension Calendar" status, no debate or amendments will be allowed.

This may be a strategy by Pelosi to disallow pro-Pharma amendments from various congressional Republicans who want to water down the language, but it also has the side effect of sidelining important health freedom amendments that did not make it into the Senate version of the bill.

HR 2900 is the mirror image of Senate Bill 1082 that claimed to reform the FDA but mostly gave the agency more money and power, even creating a new entity (Reagan-Udall) that squarely puts FDA leaders in the drug business. Health freedom advocates fought hard to amend S 1082 in a way that would protect nutritional supplements from FDA tyranny while banning television advertising for new drugs, but the deep pockets won out and the U.S. senate kowtowed to Big Pharma and passed the bill that drug companies preferred.

Now the House is about to pass its version of the bill, which would place this legislation one step closer to being signed into law by our corrupt pro-Pharma president, who has yet to sign a single bill that actually delivered better quality (or more affordable) health care to anyone.

Action needed

We need to flood the office of Nancy Pelosi with phone calls, urging her to allow debate and amendments on HR 2900.

You may call her office at (202) 225-4965 or email her at: [email protected]

You will be transferred to voice mail where you can leave a message. Urge Rep. Pelosi to allow debate and amendments on HR 2900 by removing it from the Suspension Calendar. This will allow the bill to be brought up under a regular order, which will give Congressman Ron Paul the opportunity to offer amendments that will help support health freedom (among other things).

If you want to live in a country where you retain free access to dietary supplements, please take action now to help move HR 2900 into a status allowing debate and amendments. You must call today, tonight or early tomorrow morning (Tuesday morning).

You may also contact Reps. Hoyer, Bonner, and Blunt by calling them through the Capital Switchboard: 202-225-3121

Urge them to support the same thing. Please also contact your own congressperson and urge them to support open debate and amendments on HR 2900.

This action is supported by many leaders and groups in the health freedom movement, even those that don't normally agree with each other. It is easy to see that HR 2900 stands as a serious threat to health freedom, and we cannot afford to miss this opportunity to introduce meaningful amendments to the legislation.

I have already called Pelosi's office and left a comment, and I will be calling my local congresswoman after posting this.

He serves as the founding editor of NaturalNews.com and the lab science director of an internationally accredited (ISO 17025) analytical laboratory known as CWC Labs. There, he was awarded a Certificate of Excellence for achieving extremely high accuracy in the analysis of toxic elements in unknown water samples using ICP-MS instrumentation. Adams is also highly proficient in running liquid chromatography, ion chromatography and mass spectrometry time-of-flight analytical instrumentation.

Adams is a person of color whose ancestors include Africans and Native American Indians. He's also of Native American heritage, which he credits as inspiring his "Health Ranger" passion for protecting life and nature against the destruction caused by chemicals, heavy metals and other forms of pollution.

Adams is the founder and publisher of the open source science journal Natural Science Journal, the author of numerous peer-reviewed science papers published by the journal, and the author of the world's first book that published ICP-MS heavy metals analysis results for foods, dietary supplements, pet food, spices and fast food. The book is entitled Food Forensics and is published by BenBella Books.

In his laboratory research, Adams has made numerous food safety breakthroughs such as revealing rice protein products imported from Asia to be contaminated with toxic heavy metals like lead, cadmium and tungsten. Adams was the first food science researcher to document high levels of tungsten in superfoods. He also discovered over 11 ppm lead in imported mangosteen powder, and led an industry-wide voluntary agreement to limit heavy metals in rice protein products.

In addition to his lab work, Adams is also the (non-paid) executive director of the non-profit Consumer Wellness Center (CWC), an organization that redirects 100% of its donations receipts to grant programs that teach children and women how to grow their own food or vastly improve their nutrition. Using his technical experience combined with his love for natural health, Adams developed and deployed the content management system currently driving NaturalNews.com. He also engineered the high-level statistical algorithms that power SCIENCE.naturalnews.com, a massive research resource featuring over 10 million scientific studies.

Adams is well known for his incredibly popular consumer activism video blowing the lid on fake blueberries used throughout the food supply. He has also exposed "strange fibers" found in Chicken McNuggets, fake academic credentials of so-called health "gurus," dangerous "detox" products imported as battery acid and sold for oral consumption, fake acai berry scams, the California raw milk raids, the vaccine research fraud revealed by industry whistleblowers and many other topics.

Adams has also helped defend the rights of home gardeners and protect the medical freedom rights of parents. Adams is widely recognized to have made a remarkable global impact on issues like GMOs, vaccines, nutrition therapies, human consciousness.

In addition to his activism, Adams is an accomplished musician who has released over a dozen popular songs covering a variety of activism topics.
