Abortion advocates use undercover video all the time to smear 'pregnancy centers' that are pro-life

by J. D. Heyes

(NaturalNews) Planned Parenthood's leaders and defenders are up in arms over the use of undercover operatives and video by a pro-life organization to expose grotesque and likely illegal practices of harvesting body parts from aborted babies and then selling them for profit. However, the outrage is ringing hollow to many, considering allies of Planned Parenthood regularly use similar undercover tactics to undermine and harangue pro-life pregnancy centers.

In recent weeks the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) began releasing videos featuring some of its top doctors and officials bargaining over the sale of body parts with CMP undercover operatives who were posing as employees of a phony biotech company.

The first featured Dr. Deborah Nucatola, who sipped wine with the posers while casually talking about the harvesting and subsequent sale of the fetal organs, notes Elissa Graves, litigation counsel for the Alliance Defending Freedom's Center for Life.

Following that first video, CMP released another of a second doctor talking prices for fetal organs and subsequently making an off-color joke that she wanted to make such sales "worth it" because she wanted a Lamborghini automobile.

Since then CMP has released a third and fourth video containing even more sickening footage.

As Graves explains further:

To obtain the footage, CMP went undercover as a company facilitating tissue donation for research. It created a corporate entity and represented itself as buyers of fetal organs, and while doing so, filmed Planned Parenthood officials admitting to harvesting fetal organs, bartering over the price of livers, and discussing the altering of abortion techniques to get intact specimens without regard for the mother's health.

All for it – before they were against it

Since the videos began appearing, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards, White House spokesman Josh Earnest and other organizations have resorted to attacking the messenger – CMP – rather than the acts of Planned Parenthood. But, as Graves points out, some of those same groups criticizing the undercover investigative technique used by CMP have often praised such "sting" operations in the past, such as those by NARAL Pro-Choice America, which targets pro-life centers.

In fact, Graves notes, NARAL and its surrogates and allies routinely dispatch women undercover to pregnancy centers around the country to pose as pregnant women (by ensuring a positive pregnancy test by using the urine of actual pregnant women) to get footage and audio and to obtain information in an effort to smear the centers.

In turn, NARAL will release on a regular basis state-specific "reports" (which are fill of citations to NARAL) that give off the impression the pro-life centers are merely "fake clinics" that trick women into keeping their children – as if choosing to preserve the life of a child is someone a negative for society, humanity and morality.

Keeping Americans in the dark

In the past, the media, politicians and of course Planned Parenthood have roundly supported NARAL's investigations, and have even called for legislation to unnecessarily place regulatory burdens on pro-life pregnancy centers or have demanded they be shuttered outright (meanwhile, abortion clinics like those operated by Planned Parenthood enjoy federal protection and few regulations). Yet now, these same groups are outraged over the same tactics used by CMP.

What scandals and violations of ethics did NARAL uncover when it was in favor of undercover investigations – before coming out against them?

"They found that pro-life pregnancy centers are talking to women about their pro-life organizational beliefs," Graves writes. "They railed against pregnancy centers by screaming 'coercion!' when centers offered women material assistance for their child such as diapers, formula, and clothes. And they shouted 'lies!' when pregnancy centers told women that abortion may have a lifelong negative emotional impact."

The mainstream Left wants as many Americans as possible in the dark about Planned Parenthood's actions, as evidenced by recent surveys – because it knows the majority of Americans would turn on PP.

In the meantime, we'll keep sounding the alarm, like Graves and others who are sickened by the grotesque debauchery of Planned Parenthood.
