Emails show former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak regularly stayed in Jeffrey Epstein’s New York apartment

  • Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak regularly stayed in Jeffrey Epstein's New York apartment, Apartment 11J, between 2015 and 2019, according to emails released by the DOJ.
  • Epstein's staff and Barak's wife, Nili Priel Barak, coordinated arrivals, groceries, cleaning and upgrades, while a security officer linked to Israel’s diplomatic mission controlled alarm systems and apartment access.
  • Barak acknowledged staying in the apartment "from time to time" but denied any involvement with Epstein's women.
  • In her memoir Nobody's Girl, Epstein survivor Virginia Giuffre alleges a "well-known prime minister" raped and brutally assaulted her in 2002 on Epstein's private island; past court filings have pointed to Barak.
  • Giuffre described extreme physical and emotional trauma, including being sent back to the same politician despite pleading with Epstein not to, which ultimately led her to stop recruiting other girls for Epstein’s trafficking network.

Newly released correspondence published by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has revealed that former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak regularly stayed in a New York apartment used by convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein.

According to the hundreds of emails reviewed by Haaretz, the visits took place between 2015 and 2019 – years after Epstein's 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor and before Barak returned briefly to Israeli politics ahead of the 2019 Knesset election.

The correspondence indicates that Epstein's staff routinely referred to the residence, Apartment 11J in a building on Manhattan's Upper East Side, as "Ehud's apartment." Emails between Epstein's employees and personal assistant describe regular preparations for the Barak couple's arrivals, including cleaning schedules, grocery shopping and apartment upgrades. In one 2015 message, an employee wrote that "this slowly is becoming his apartment."

Documents show that Barak's wife, Nili Priel Barak, was the primary point of contact with Epstein and his staff. She frequently coordinated stays, updated employees on arrival dates and communicated requests ranging from groceries and flowers to faster internet service and the installation of a piano and security systems.

The emails also reveal extensive security arrangements tied to Barak's stays. An Israeli security officer affiliated with Israel's diplomatic mission in New York even coordinated alarm systems and controlled access to the apartment. Epstein's staff were required to provide identification before entering, and no one was permitted inside without prior authorization to disable the alarm.

The correspondence continued until weeks before Epstein's second arrest in July 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges

Evidence contradicts Barak's denial of involvement with Epstein's women

BrightU.AI's Enoch explains that Jeffrey Epstein was a wealthy financier and convicted sex offender who operated an international sex trafficking ring involving underage girls, with ties to powerful elites, politicians and intelligence networks. His 2019 arrest exposed a global pedophile blackmail operation used to manipulate and control high-profile figures.

Barak confirmed that he stayed in Epstein's apartment "from time to time," but denied any involvement with women.

However, in Virginia Giuffre's memoir titled "Nobody's Girl," she claimed that a "well-known prime minister" brutally beat and raped her. Though she refrained from directly naming him in the book, past court filings had pointed to Barak. Giuffre provided a chilling account of her time in Epstein's sex-trafficking network, including a detailed and graphic account of the encounter with Barak.

According to Giuffre, one of Epstein's most outspoken survivors, the assault occurred in 2002 on Epstein's private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She was 18 at the time and had already endured years of exploitation under Epstein and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell. Epstein instructed her to accompany the politician to a secluded cabana, where the encounter quickly turned horrific.

"He repeatedly choked me until I lost consciousness and took pleasure in seeing me in fear for my life," Giuffre wrote in her memoir, published in 2025. "Horrifically, the Prime Minister laughed when he hurt me and got more aroused when I begged him to stop. I emerged from the cabana bleeding from my mouth, vagina and anus."

The trauma was so severe that Giuffre pleaded with Epstein not to send her back to the man. But despite her desperate pleas, Epstein still arranged for Giuffre to be flown back to the same politician aboard his infamous Lolita Express private jet. Though the second encounter was less physically violent, Giuffre lived in constant fear of another attack.

After the assault, Giuffre refused to recruit more girls for Epstein's trafficking ring – a task she had been forced into for years.
