Sanctuary city mayors admit being at the breaking point with migrant crisis, but they blame Texas Gov. Abbott instead of Biden’s open borders

Three sanctuary cities have admitted that they can no longer handle the influx of illegal migrants being bused to them and have now reached a breaking point, exhausting their local resources and taxpayer money. Mayors of Chicago, New York City and Denver point to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, blaming him for "tripling down on efforts to use asylum seekers as political pawns" instead of the Democrat President Joe Biden's "weak" border policies.

In an executive order, New York City Mayor Eric Adams has requested all charter bus companies to provide a 32-hour advance notice on the arrival of migrants. "We cannot allow buses with people needing our help to arrive without warning at any hour of day and night," Adams said during a virtual news conference with Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Denver Mayor Mike Johnston. "For many months, we were able to keep the visualization of this crisis from hitting our streets, but we have reached a breaking point."

According to Adams' office, more than 7,000 illegals have entered the intake system in the last two weeks. The city estimates 157,600 illegals have arrived since late spring.

Likewise, Johnson said that every city service is on the verge of collapse thanks to the illegals. He warned that in Chicago, they have already reached a "critical point in the mission that absent real, significant intervention immediately, our local economies are not designed and built to respond to this type of crisis," he said, adding that they are literally "building a system as they go along."

The same goes in Denver, where its mayor claimed that at this point, they have had "more migrant arrivals than any city in America per capita." Which is, of course, ridiculous when you consider that the smaller border towns on the battle front of this crisis are mostly smaller cities than Denver, by far.

All three mayors agreed that the influx of migrants in their cities is turning into a "humanitarian crisis." They appealed to all levels of government and federal partners to help them ensure migrants "are treated with dignity and humanity." They also blamed the migrant crisis on Texas Governor Greg Abbott, alleging that the governor is taking advantage of the crisis to attack Biden politically.

Meanwhile, critics were quick to point out how these three Democratic mayors failed to attribute the problem to the Biden administration's disastrous open southern border policies, which sparked the invasion of millions of migrants, and possible criminals, from all over the world into the U.S. in the first place. Also, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claimed that the "borders are not open," which to analysts seemed to have been a total lie considering the heavy surge of asylum seekers coming through the borders.

Earlier in December, Sheriff Mark Lamb of Pinal County, Arizona dropped a "truth bomb" on a YouTube video post, revealing that individuals crossing the border illegally into Arizona are promptly awarded a $5,000 gift card upon entering the United States, along with cell phones and costly plane tickets, all of which are being paid for by the American taxpayers.

"We see all these people coming across, mostly military-aged men coming from China, Africa and all over the world. When these folks come across and are processed, they are being given cell phones, plane tickets wherever they want to go in this country – maybe to a community near you – and $5,000 Visa cards," he said. U.S. and Mexico to “regularize” illegal immigrants living in America

In a joint statement, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Mayorkas together with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador affirmed their commitments to "orderly, humane and regular migration" and stressed their efforts to tackle "root causes" of migration, disrupt human smuggling and promote private investment while also investing in "ambitious development programs" in the region during their meeting on Wednesday in Mexico City.

The statement also indicated that the officials discussed the "benefits" of granting some form of legal status for illegal immigrants already in the U.S., including those protected by the 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), an executive order signed by former President Barack Obama, which shielded some illegal immigrants who arrived in the U.S. as minors. "The delegations also discussed the benefits of regularizing the situation of Hispanic migrants who have been undocumented for several years and the DACA beneficiaries, who are a vital part of the US economy and society," the joint statement said, adding that the delegations will meet again in January.

This move quickly sparked a furious reaction from House Republicans, who called it "unconscionable." They also questioned the administration's $14 billion request for border funding as part of its supplemental funding request to Congress. They demanded that the package include restrictions on the use of humanitarian parole and stricter asylum standards.

Meanwhile, Fox News reported this week that during the four-day Christmas weekend, there were more than 35,000 migrant encounters, and since Dec. 1, there have been over 250,000 migrant encounters at the southern border, which only means that December could break the monthly record for encounters set in September at 269,735.
