Canada attempted to deceive the public by providing a tally of cases, hospitalizations and deaths that stretches all the way back to December 14, 2020. That included a huge wave of deaths that occurred in January 2021 when just 0.3 percent of the Canadian population was considered fully vaccinated.
But news outlet the Expose used Wayback Machine to find what the Canadian government is trying to hide. Wayback Machine is a digital archive of the worldwide web that captures, manages and searches collections of digital content without any technical expertise or hosting facilities.
The Expose found a chart showing the number of COVID-19 deaths across Canada by vaccination status between February 14 and May 29. During that period, there were 4,954 COVID-19 deaths recorded and the vaccinated population accounted for 3,796 of them. The report specified that 135 deaths were among the partly vaccinated, 1,174 deaths among those who had two jabs and 2,487 deaths among the triple vaccinated.
In summary, Canada's unvaccinated population accounted for just 23 percent of COVID-19 deaths, whereas the vaccinated population accounted for 77 percent – 70 percent of which were vaccinated thrice.
The team was able to dig further into the total number of COVID-19 cases from the same period wherein Canada recorded 429,335 cases, and 376,451 of which were among the vaccinated population. Also, 11,211 cases were from the partly vaccinated, 138,086 cases from the double vaccinated, and 227,154 cases among the triple vaccinated.
Hospitalizations during the same timeline indicated an influx of 25,332 patients, and 19,717 of them were vaccinated. The 855 people sent to the hospitals were partly vaccinated, 6,489 were double vaccinated and 12,373 were vaccinated thrice. (Related: Triple vaccinated individuals account for majority of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths in Canada this year.)
In efforts to further conceal the actual data of COVID-19 deaths and bring back vaccine mandates for travel, the Canadian government is now looking to change the country's definition of "fully vaccinated" against COVID-19, in accordance with Canada's top doctors' recommendations.
Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada's chief public health officer, told reporters during a briefing on June 10 that the COVID-19 vaccine efficiency wanes significantly over time – from 50 to 80 percent down to 20 percent or lower, six months after the second dose.
The health officer recommended that any official language encouraging the public to be vaccinated should not emphasize a specific number of doses, but rather say Canadians should be "up-to-date" with their vaccines.
"(A) mandate is a policy decision that takes into account many different factors and it's up to the policymakers at this time to make that difficult decision. But I would always be going with recommending 'up-to-date,'" said Tam, referencing the preferred policy wording.
"Although two doses still protect significantly well against severe disease and death, two doses are not enough now to protect against infection and transmission. That is why we are transitioning now to an 'up-to-date' vaccination definition of what it means to be adequately protected against COVID-19," said Canadian Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos at a recent press conference in Ottawa.
This move could possibly leave more people out of work because just 55 percent of the population aged 12 and over have three doses compared to 90 percent with two doses. Furthermore, the government offered no evidence and no data to support the idea of suspending travel and work mandates.
Brian Lilley of Toronto Sun said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's administration has been declaring often that it is listening to the best advice and best science but does not share any of it with the public.
