When our founders designed our Constitution they included a provision whereby members of Congress could be removed from office if they were found to have violated the law or committed another egregious act.
As noted in a 2012 assessment (.pdf) by the Congressional Research Service:
Under Article I, Section 5, clause 2, of the Constitution, a Member of Congress may be removed from office before the normal expiration of his or her constitutional term by an “expulsion” from the Senate (if a Senator) or from the House of Representatives (if a Representative) upon a formal vote on a resolution agreed to by two-thirds of the Members of that body present and voting.
The Constitution does not spell out “specific grounds for expulsion,” but such actions “have generally concerned cases of perceived disloyalty to the United States, or the conviction of a criminal statutory offense which involved abuse of one’s official position.”
According to the House’s Enforcement of Ethical Standards in Congress guidelines:
Members of Congress, like other citizens in the United States, are subject to investigation and prosecution for criminal misconduct and other statutory violations through the criminal justice system, initiated by Federal, State, or local public prosecutors, and conducted through the courts.
Which bring us back to Waters.
For the second time in less than a year, the crazed California Leftist has called on supporters and political opponents of POTUS Donald Trump -- and Americans who back him -- to take to the streets and disrupt or destroy the civil society as a means of ‘protesting’ his decision to declare a national emergency along the U.S.-Mexico border.
During an appearance on MSNBC, Waters called for Americans to send the president a message that they believe his declaration is “fake.”
“I really expect we’re going to have a growing number of Republicans that are going to join with us in this disapproval. Yes, they’re concerned if a Democratic president gets elected then they can use emergency powers to do a lot of the things they don’t like,” she said.
“I’ve been talking about impeachment for a long time. I’m absolutely stunned and amazed that the American people have taken so much off of this president. This president has lied, I think it’s been documented, 8,000 times in the last two years,” Waters continued.
“The Americans have taken too much off of this president. He is dishonorable. He does not deserve to be president of the United States. As a matter of fact, he loves Putin, dictators, loves Kim Jong-un, talking about they’re in love now,” she charged. (Related: Maxine Waters supporters burn the America flag while chanting “black power.”)
“And so it’s time for everybody to stand up. All hands on deck to refuse this president these fake emergency powers that he would like to have. And so I’m urging everybody get together — rally in every community across this country all this weekend, send a message to Washington, D.C., ‘No, Mr. President, we’re not going allow you to do this,” she said.
Refuse him how, exactly, congresswoman?
You may recall last summer, Waters called on supporters to physically confront Trump Cabinet members at “restaurants,” in public, and even “at their house,” offering them “no peace, no sleep.”
“You get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” she said, The National Sentinel reported.
This kind of incitement will not only result in mass chaos it is liable to lead to physical confrontations and death.
Maxine Waters is no longer just advocating political opposition, she’s advocating civil unrest, violence, and physical resistance. If the cowards in Congress won’t do anything to her, then the Justice Department should consider charging her with inciting violence.
Do Americans have to die before this crackpot is held responsible?
