Google awards “sexual deviant” ex-employee $90 million severance package
11/08/2018 // Ethan Huff // Views

More than 200 Google employees, many of them women, are staging a company-wide walkout in protest of the tech giant's controversial decision to award a massive $90 million severance package to a top-level, male company executive who was told to resign for committing acts of sexual deviance against female employees.

Andy Rubin, an Android mobile software creator, was let go from Google back in 2014 after it was brought to light that he had coerced a woman who also worked at Google into performing oral sex on him in a hotel room just one year prior. But Google apparently tried to keep it all a secret while proceeding to award Rubin with a massive cash sum.

"What Google did not make public was that an employee had accused Mr. Rubin of sexual misconduct," The New York Times (NYT) originally reported, which was later picked up by Zero Hedge.

"Google investigated and concluded her claim was credible, said the people, who spoke on the condition that they not be named, citing confidentiality agreements. Mr. Rubin was notified, they said, and Mr. Page asked for his resignation."

Female Google employees accuse company of giving preference to male employees

The fact that Google could have simply let Rubin go without giving him a dime, just like they've done to at least 48 other former employees who were let go for similar incidents of misconduct, suggests that the company is giving preference to some employees over others.

One current Google employee, who spoke to BuzzFeed News on the condition of anonymity, told the media outlet that she's "furious" about the situation, believing it to reflect a deeper culture of bias at the tech giant.

"I feel like there's a pattern of powerful men getting away with awful behavior towards women at Google‚ or if they don't get away with it, they get a slap on the wrist, or they get sent away with a golden parachute, like Andy Rubin," she stated.

"And it's a leadership of mostly men making the decisions about what kind of consequences to give, or not give."

Google's attempts to sweep the whole thing under the rug have thus far failed. A group of female engineers reportedly "began upvoting a post on an internal Google forum that suggested employees stage a walkout." The number of those who later committed to actually following through has reached the hundreds.

It's a situation that's oddly reminiscent to what Google employees faced last year in trying to deal with Google's rampant culture of leftist oppression.

In case you missed it, a cohort of Google employees, also speaking under anonymity, told Breitbart News that the company doesn't tolerate any free speech outside of predominant leftist narratives, and that employees who violate these rules often find themselves on internal "wrongthink blacklists" that subject them to flagrant discrimination.

Google employees have also staged protests and threatened walkouts over Google's teaming up with the Department of Defense (DoD) to develop drone warfare technology as part of the federal government's "Project Maven" program.

There also appears to be a culture of impropriety at Google that many employees are now referring to as the "old guard" that they'd like to see removed from leadership. Several examples of this include Google co-founder Sergey Brin, who had a consensual, extramarital affair with an employee; Senior Vice President of Corporate Development David Drummond, who fathered a child with a junior Google employee; and Google X director Richard DeVaul, who sexually-harassed a prospective hire, according to the NYT.
