During an appearance on CNN, where he’s been an analyst since leaving the White House in January 2017 at the start of the POTUS Trump administration, Clapper said that the former president actually tasked the intelligence community, the Justice Department and the FBI with launching a ‘counterintelligence’ probe against a rival presidential campaign, the first time in the history of our republic anything even remotely close to that has happened.
“If it weren’t for President Obama we might not have done the intelligence community assessment that we did that set up a whole sequence of events which are still unfolding today including Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation,” Clapper said, as reported by The Gateway Pundit. “President Obama is responsible for that. It was he who tasked us to do that intelligence community assessment in the first place.”
While Clapper might have thought he was giving Obama credit for the operation, what he really did is implicate his former boss as being the mastermind behind the scandalous “investigation” which, by the way, has yet to turn up even a scintilla of evidence there was ‘collusion’ between the Russian government and members of the Trump campaign.

Remember that text exchange between FBI counterintelligence No. 2 Peter Strzok and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, his lover?
In a Sept. 2, 2016, text to Strzok about preparing talking points for then-FBI Director James Comey to give to President Obama, Page said it was important to do so because “potus wants to know everything we’re doing.”
In May, President George W. Bush’s White House press secretary, Ari Fleischer, said he “guarantees” that Obama knew about the Spygate operation. What’s more, he said Obama knew because he would’ve had to approve it.

POTUS Trump said pretty much the same thing in an impromptu interview with the White House Press Corps. When a reporter asked if Trump believes Obama knew, POTUS responded: “Would he know? I would certainly hope not. But I think it’s going to be pretty obvious after awhile.”

What’s more, Obama would have been kept informed of the ongoing Spygate operation by his attorney general, Loretta Lynch. In regards to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court warrants sought for putting Trump campaign advisor Carter Page under the FBI’s watchful eye, anytime they are sought and approved the AG briefs the president, ABC News reported in March 2017.
Where did Obama get his authority to run fake counterintelligence and surveillance operations?
Try Congress. Yale law professor Jack Balkin explained in 2009:
The FISA Amendments Act of 2008, effectively gives the President – now President Obama – the authority to run surveillance programs similar in effect to the warrantless surveillance program [secretly implemented by George Bush in late 2001]. That is because New FISA no longer requires individualized targets in all surveillance programs. Some programs may be ‘vacuum cleaner’ programs that listen to a great many different calls (and read a great many e-mails) without any requirement of a warrant directed at a particular person as long as no U.S. person is directly targeted as the object of the program.
Now, the question is, why did Clapper throw Obama under a bus? Is he trying to get out in front of some horribly damaging information that’s getting ready to come out?
It’s time for Mueller’s investigation to be shut down. This just clinches it.
