(Natural News) During her opening monologue on Saturday, Fox News host Judge Janine Pirro commented that today’s political rancor and discourse is unlike anything we’ve ever seen in our country. She says political discourse has now devolved into “political abuse,” and we’re being further divided than ever before.
While Judge Janine is correct in that our divisions are deep and the chasm is widening, there have been previous periods in our history when political discourse was transformed into political abuse.
In fact, we endured such political abuse for more than a century — and Democrats were largely to blame for it.
In recent days supporters of President Donald Trump as well as members of his administration have been harassed and driven out of the public space by angry, triggered, Left-wing Democratic supporters who seem to have decided that they have some right to choose which policies are “moral” and which ones aren’t:
— Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was attempting to have a nice, quiet meal at a Mexican restaurant near the White House when she was accosted by a mob of “Democratic Socialists.” The mob screamed at her and chanted slogans because they disagree with the administration’s border enforcement policies.
— White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who has endured the most abuse from a disgustingly dishonest press corps than any previous person in her position (with the exception of her predecessor, Sean Spicer), was told to leave a Virginia restaurant as she attempted to dine with her family. The reason? She works for the ‘amoral’ Trump administration which is ‘separating families’ at the U.S. border and putting them in ‘concentration camps’ — allegations which are, of course, ridiculous.
— Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, a Republican and Trump supporter, was confronted by large men at a theater during a weekend screening for the new Mr. Rogers documentary, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” who were “bullies” looking for a fight. While standing in line waiting for a ticket she said a woman came up to her and said she was responsible “for ripping babies out of the arms of mothers.”
“They were trying to create a fight,” Bondi told “Fox & Friends” Monday, noting hecklers got in her face and were attempting to goad her boyfriend into a physical response. At times the men were just inches from Bondi’s face and had to be moved back by a state trooper accompanying her. She said other female Republican lawmakers in the state have been similarly harassed.
— Over the weekend crank Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters of California called for more of the same against Trump administration officials and anyone who agrees with him, especially on the issue of illegal immigration (which is a majority of the country).
The Left is trying to incite violence
Isn’t it interesting that the “party of tolerance, inclusiveness and love” — isn’t any of those things when it comes to Americans who disagree with them? (Related: OBVIOUS: Democrats are willing to see America overrun and destroyed just so they can WIN future elections)
Democrats are the party of the KKK, segregation, Martha Sanger-style black euthanasia, and abortion targeting the black community. And today, Democrats are treating Trump supporters like they treated blacks and racial minorities in the 19th and 20th century.
Calls for ‘confrontations’ against Trump supporters and members of his administration are going to lead to violence, and probably death. Count on it. That’s what the Left wants or, rather, that’s what they think they want. Anarchy always sounds better than it is in reality.
The fact is, the mood of the country has shifted significantly in Trump’s favor. The unhinged behavior of the Left has long since gotten old and tiresome to most Americans who have simply tuned them out. The new calls for confrontational violence represent an effort to become relevant again.
The problem is the end results are not going to be good — for Democrats.
