Attacks, discrimination, judgment: For conservative youth, the college experience has been ironically similar to the oppression of 50 years ago

The findings of a new Gallup / Knight Foundation poll are perhaps the most revealing yet as to the menacing state of extreme anti-conservative bias at many of America's colleges and universities.

A shocking 61 percent of students polled as part of the 2017 survey stated that the oppressively liberal climate at many institutions of higher learning is now so prolific that it actually "prevents some people from saying things they believe because others might find them offensive."

This is hardly a groundbreaking discovery, as American higher education has been on a perpetual downward spiral into the liberal abyss for many decades. But what is revealing is the fact that more people are noticing it these days.

According to those who conducted the poll, the 61 percent figure is up seven percentage points from the year prior. Further, more left-leaning students than ever before are now supportive of actually restricting the free speech rights of those with whom they disagree, which is perhaps making their agenda more palpable.

A whopping 30 percent of surveyed students admitted that they would actually be in favor of disallowing free speech that they don't like, which is up eight percent from 2016. What this suggests is that the fascist leanings of liberal campus thought are gaining ground.

"At the very least, this downward trend is disturbing and could eventually lead to more instances of what is known as the heckler's veto – or the suppression of speech by the government because of the possibility of a violent reaction by hecklers," writes Elizabeth M. Economou for

Christians, conservatives, and whites: Stand up and defend yourself

What exactly is a "heckler's veto," you might be asking? Rather than define it in textbook terms, let's instead take a look at a real-life example that took place not too long at the University of Washington.

This public institution reportedly tried to charge the UW Campus Republicans a "security fee" of $17,000 to keep things civil at a free speech rally they held on campus. The university claimed that, because those opposed to the event could become violent, the conservative group would have to pay extra.

This represents not only an unconstitutional approach that punishes one group for the potential incivility of another, but it also serves as a silencing mechanism to keep quiet conservative viewpoints on the basis of "safety."

"Forcing the College Republicans to pay a fee based on the potential reaction of people opposed to its viewpoints amounts to an unconstitutional heckler's veto," explained William Becker, the attorney for the UW College Republicans, at the time when this incident occurred.

Becker, who serves as president and CEO of the nonprofit law firm Freedom X, filed a federal lawsuit alleging that UW's attempted levy of a "security fee" violates both the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution.

Conservative students are also facing punishment in the classroom at many college campuses simply for expressing their views like everyone else. Lake Ingle, a religious studies major at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, came forward and told the media what he's had to endure at the hands of political correctness fascists at his school.

"As many of you reading this know, I am battling my university to stay in a major required course that if I do not complete I will be unable to graduate as scheduled," Ingle explains on a GoFundMe page he started to raise money for his legal battle against his professors, some of whom are discriminating against him for holding biblical views on issues like gender.

"During this ordeal I've hired a lawyer which has cost me about $1,000. Also, if the university decides to rule in favor of the professor and remove me from the course, permanently, I will have to pay for an online class in order to graduate."
