Dog released from abusive clinic months after supposedly being euthanized

Vet clinic

(NaturalNews) It's always good to question a medical professional, whether it be a doctor, dentist or veterinarian, to keep them honest and transparent. Blind trust in someone with a badge, title or degree is an open door for abuse, misguidance and deception. Left unaccountable, any professional who is blindly trusted can mislead, deceive and even be abusive behind closed doors.

"Humane" and "hardworking" vet caught conducting medical experiments on pets

This couldn't be any truer than in the recent controversy surrounding the Camp Bowie Animal Clinic. Long-time veterinarian Dr. Lou Tierce (age 71) has been a licensed vet since 1966 and is described by his clients in the community as "humane" and "hardworking."

"He is an incredible veterinarian!" said client Robert Heineman, who believes in Dr. Lou Tierce. "He doesn't go on vacation[;] he goes to seminars."

Client Annie Hudson said, "Four months ago my chihuahua got out the house and got hit. He fixed it. He saved a dog's life!"

But when client Marian Harris visited Dr. Tierce last October, a devious plot unfolded. Dr. Tierce convinced Mrs. Harris that her four-year-old dog Sid was dying and needed to be euthanized. After Harris gave the doctor permission to euthanize Sid, the plot took a twist. Instead of euthanizing the dog, Dr. Tierce imprisoned their pet secretly and began conducting medical experiments on the dog for six months.

Family receives a tip... rescues and reunites with their pet six months later

In April, a former employee of the Camp Bowie Animal Clinic called Mrs. Harris with shocking news. Harris was stunned to find out that her pet, Sid, was still alive six months later, imprisoned and undergoing medical experiments spearheaded by Dr. Tierce.

"The betrayal is so incredibly intense that nothing you have prepares you for the emotions. There's anger, there's joy that you have your dog back, there's betrayal of this intense trust. And so it's just really hard to camp on one particular emotion," said Harris.

When Harris entered the clinic with her husband, they marched to the back of the building where they found their dog living in a small cage.

"He was able to walk and jump in the back of my minivan so it was an excitement to be reunited," said Harris. The couple immediately took their pet to another veterinarian who said Sid didn't even need to be euthanized.

Veterinarian Dr. Tierce charged with animal cruelty, as his medical experiments on pets are exposed

Now exposed by former employees and clients in the community, Dr. Tierce turned himself in to local police, who quickly charged him with Cruelty to Animal Non-Livestock. Dr. Tierce's veterinary medicine license has since then been suspended.

On April 29, animal control officials coordinated with local police and the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners to investigate the Camp Bowie Animal Clinic.

During the investigation, two other abused animals were rescued. The report states, "Animal organs were kept in jars throughout the clinic... Stacks of drugs, trash, laundry, paperwork and other miscellaneous material were strewn about."

The report also stated that the respondent admitted to holding four animals at his clinic to be euthanized. "[O]ne (animals) had been kept at his clinic in a cage for two to three years after he had accepted it for euthanasia."

Lab techs told investigators that many animals were held in captivity for up to 23 hours a day, as medical experiments were conducted on them routinely.
