As total lunacy infests America, mom faces jail time for letting her son play outdoors

Child abduction

(NaturalNews) From small towns to big cities, Americans are being conditioned to live in a nanny-state culture, where neighbors live in fear of one another, and people are encouraged to report "suspicious" behavior to authorities. Government agencies of all shapes and sizes – the FBI, the NSA, Homeland Security, the IRS, the TSA, Child Protective Services, etc. – all actively encourage Americans to be wary of one another, to spy on and target one another, if they don't conform and do as they are told. We live in a culture of division – where authorities are called upon to intervene for the most trivial offenses, miscommunications, disagreements and differences.

Many people don't work things out as neighbors anymore. They don't communicate and do the sensible thing.

If a neighbor sees a 4-year-old playing outside alone, they may feel so insecure inside that they would resort to calling the police to intervene. This is becoming a common situation in America today. Neighbors call the police to intervene in parenting situations that are none of their damn business. If there is some kind of risk being taken, it is at the parent's discretion. It is their business. Some parents want their children to become independent and play alone outdoors. Nosy, controlling neighbors that disagree with this parenting style may pathetically call the police and the CPS just because they see a child playing in the yard alone.

Police, CPS called in because neighbor didn't like that a 4-year-old was playing outside alone

The latest case of this nanny-state lunacy happened when Sonya Hendren left her 4-year-old son Tomahawk to play alone outside their apartment complex. Hendren lives in a gated community in Sacramento, California. Her son was no further than 120 feet from the apartment, when a neighbor decided to intervene. The neighbor, Sonja Horrell, turned Hendren in to Child Protective Services. When the agents arrived, they arrested Hendren for child neglect and endangerment – snatching up 4-year-old Tomahawk in the process.

The mother could face jail time over this insanity

After ardently appealing the case, the felony charges were dropped to misdemeanors, which could require the persecuted mother to spend six months in jail and complete three years of probation. Hendren has adamantly opposed the charges, and was offered a plea bargain requiring 30 days in jail and a year of probation. She has stood firm, rejecting both sentences, and is pleading not guilty.

The persecution of this parent and the emotional ups and downs she is being forced to undergo are all because a neighbor didn't like that her child was playing alone 120 feet from her front door! What if the tattle-telling neighbor had checked up on the child and talked to the parent about her concerns? What if the neighbor had just minded her own damn business? What if Child Protective Services and the police had common sense in these situations?

No harm has been done to this child by the parent. The harm being done to the child is coming from authorities, as they separate the child from his mother. How will this kind of irrational behavior on the part of the authorities impact the child's emotional health, and change the way he sees the world around him?

When did police become peer mediators, with the power to take unharmed children away from their rightful parents? When did the CPS get the authority to dictate what risks parents can take when they let their children play in the yard, the park or down the street?

If the controlling neighbor was worried about the child being abducted, well, they were ultimately the reason this child was abducted – by the CPS.
