Leaked ISIS document shows how terror group uses same tactics as New York Times to propagandize its people and keep them compliant

ISIS

(NaturalNews) Propaganda is one of the oldest techniques that people have used to influence others, and that practice has been honed to a fine art today by the American mainstream media.

However, the American MSM can't claim it has cornered the market on the practice. International organizations like the United Nations, lobbying groups and even terrorists have also perfected the practice and use modern social media, especially, to convert and win hearts and minds.

In fact, terrorist groups like the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) likely has learned lessons about how the Obama Administration and its sycophants in the MSM spread propaganda to win support for government programs and policies – like Obamacare, which, after it has passed and is beginning to be fully implemented, has become very unpopular.

"More sophisticated"

As reported by the UK's Mirror, a document describing how ISIS plans to organize and govern the yawning swath of territory now comprising its self-declared "caliphate" has now been leaked to the media, and it indicates that the organization is much more sophisticated than many believed.

Further, the Mirror reported:

The leaked dossier outlines how the terror group is trying to build a state complete with guidelines for education, natural resources, industry, diplomacy, propaganda and the military.

The 24-page document 'Principles in the administration of the Islamic State' gives an incredible insight into the well-funded regime.

Written by an Egyptian called Abu Abdullah, outlines how kids must receive "training on bearing light arms".

Also, Abdullah called for a singular identity for ISIS as a way to unite foreigners and locals, and he made an argument for the establishment of independent "factories for local military and food production," another sign of a sophisticated governing thought process.

The Mirror noted that the report was first obtained by another UK paper, The Guardian, adding that it demonstrates "an unprecedented level of sophistication" for the terrorist group.

"Far from being an army of irrational, bloodthirsty fanatics, IS (Islamic State) is a deeply calculating political organisation with an extremely complex, well-planned infrastructure behind it," Charlie Winter, a senior researcher for Georgia State University, told The Guardian, as the Mirror noted.

That said, ISIS is a prolific user of propaganda and social media to win adherents and make converts – even if members of the organization have committed atrocities against those it attempts to convert. In fact, the Mirror noted, these techniques were revealed recently in a propaganda video featuring a young boy whose mother was raped by ISIS fighters who also killed his father. Now, he is being transformed into a cold-blooded killer by the group.

The Mosul Eye, an organization documenting life in the Iraqi city, obtained the propaganda video which shows the young boy executing someone in Syria.

In a statement, the group said: "ISIS kidnapped this child first thing when it took over Sinjar, and they raped his mother and sisters and killed his father and brother.

"He is one in a large group of children that ISIS kidnapped. ISIS turned this innocent child to a killing machine."

Using the power of propaganda to persuade

In addition to these extreme techniques, ISIS is also using the "carrot" approach to winning converts. Just like Obama's liberal media, ISIS propaganda touts "free" healthcare
provided by the caliphate, appropriately dubbed "Baghdadicare." Furthermore, as The New York Times reported when ISIS fighters took the Syrian city of Palmyra from government forces earlier this year:

The Islamic State alternates between terrorizing residents and courting them. It takes over institutions. And it seeks to co-opt opposition to the government, painting itself as the champion of the people — or at least, the Sunnis — against oppressive central authorities. [emphases added]

How is this any different than, say, the same New York Times championing a liberal president's call for more gun control by publishing a front-page editorial – the first since 1920 – in order to proselytize against the Second Amendment and that calls for, among other things, gun bans and even confiscations?

It's not, and yet the American MSM has done this – cover for and serve as a Praetorian guard for Obama – since he took office, because MSM editors and staff align with him politically and ideologically.
