Why should we care about 'smart' fats?

According to Jonny Bowden, "there has been a sea change in the thinking about fat in our diet. And the 'sea change' has been that fat is your best friend, not only when it comes to losing weight but also when it comes to brain health and heart health."

Jonny goes on to emphasize a crucial point: "we need fat in our diet and we need more fat in our diet than we thought we did and our old division of good and bad fat are obsolete!"

That's right – you read that correctly, the old ideas of "good and bad" fat (and cholesterol) have been scientifically proven to be incorrect! In the past, most people were duped into believing that (all) fat would raise cholesterol and increase our risk of a heart attack – right? Well, we now know that there are actually MANY different types of "good" (HDL) cholesterol and the same can be said about fat.

In other words, the notion that "all fats are bad" – is an unintelligent (dishonest) way of characterizing fat and its effect on the body. There's so much more to this story than Western medicine and big pharma would have us believe.

On the next NaturalNews Talk Hour, Jonathan Landsman and Jonny Bowden offer a refreshing (fact-based) presentation about fats and why most Americans have been misled for decades. Join us for an amazing show about how to truly nourish the body for optimal health.

Is a vegan (low-fat) diet good for me?

Dr. Jonny has answered this question MANY times and basically he's what he has to say:

"Vegan diets are not innately healthier; it's possible to be a vegan and still eat processed foods. When I was going to Equinox in the 90s, we used to call these kids "Twinkie Vegetarians." They wouldn't eat anything that had ever been alive, but instead were eating spaghetti and Coco Crunches."

"It's possible to be a vegan or a vegetarian and still eat a horrible diet. However, the spirit of the vegan diet is something I do agree with. Fresh fruits and vegetables offer an array of compounds; an encyclopedia of flavonoids, polyphenols, catechins, vitamins, and minerals."

Bottom line: We are witnessing a major shift in awareness – away from a dumbed-down way of looking at fat to a more reasonable (accurate) perspective on the quality of any food we eat. And, obviously, this is making lots of food companies a bit nervous – as we uncover the truth about our food supply.

Join us for an enlightening show about how to choose the best diet for avoiding disease and maintaining optimal health.
