(NaturalNews) A Los Angeles man who decided out of discontentment to take the plunge and switch his gender to become a "woman" has now reverted back to being a man. Walt Heyer, 42, says gender reassignment surgery had a "tremendous, destructive process" on his life, which is why he made the choice to have a second sex change to revert back to being a male.

Heyer, who now counsels other people who are considering sex changes, holds a much different view of the invasive process than the American mainstream media. Far from being something worthy of praise and adoration, he says that transgenderism is a pathological condition that should be treated as a disease in need of treatment.

Prior to transforming himself into the likeness of a woman, Heyer says he was a happily married man with two children. However, like Jenner, Heyer says he always felt like a woman trapped in a man's body and bought into the notion that undergoing surgery and taking female hormones would fix this dysphoria.

At first, Heyer was happy with his newfound female form post-surgery. However, the glitz and glamour quickly wore off, and Heyer began to feel as though he'd made a huge mistake. After facing troubles in the workplace, the former husband and father began to look deeper into his past, leading him to the realization that his gender dysphoria was the product of deep-rooted childhood trauma.

"Immediately after the procedure, you're in a state of euphoria because you battle it for so long," Heyer told the U.K.'s Daily Mail. "You think this is wonderful and fabulous and you think your life's going to be good and then as time goes on, there's this funny little thing that happens in life. It's called reality."

Changing one's gender is "foolishness," says former transgender

Contrary to what the mainstream media would have us all think, not all transgender individuals are happy with their decision to switch genders. Heyer is a great example of this because he has repeatedly expressed to the media that he wishes he'd never been allowed to go through with the procedure in the first place.

At the time when he opted for a sex change back in the early 1980s, there was no way to reverse the procedure. Things have since changed, and Heyer is now back to his old self, at least in some ways; he no longer has male genitals because they were removed during the first sex change procedure.

Still, Heyer is happy to be back in his old body, male gender and all, and he hopes that surgeons in the U.S. and Europe, which is where most gender reassignment surgeries take place, will think long and hard about how performing sex changes will affect their patients.

"Gender dysphoria is a psychological condition where you are dissatisfied with your gender," he added in an interview with the Daily Mail. "Nobody's ever born a transgender. They're manufactured as a result of something, a developmental childhood issue that has yet to be determined for many people."

"In retrospect, I can see that changing genders, quite frankly, is just pure foolishness."

For Heyer, it began when his grandmother started dressing him in female clothing at a very young age. When Heyer's father found out about this, his adopted brother began to sexually molest him, and his mother began to discipline him so severely that she almost killed him. All of this abuse by those entrusted to his care led Heyer to feel like "a girl trapped in a male's body."

Heyer's later studies in psychology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, after he'd already turned himself into a woman led him to the shocking discovery that he wasn't really a woman at all. One thing led to another, and Heyer decided to revert back to his former self and help others suffering from similar gender-centric afflictions.

"All they do is pump people full of hormones, put in breast implants and declare that they've manufactured a female," Heyer says. "It's biologically impossible to make a man into a woman."
