(NaturalNews) Increasingly, the leaders of Great Britain appear to be losing their minds, further demonstrating that they seem incapable of distinguishing good, moral public policy from bad.

As noted over at Liberty Blitzkrieg, the British government has essentially launched a war on toddlers with the implementation of a policy aimed at forcing nursery school teachers to identify "extremist" children to the government.

Michael Krieger of Liberty Blitzkrieg wrote back in January of the rising insanity behind Britain's approach to combating terrorism. A new "counter-terrorism" measure that was under consideration in the British parliament at the time would require nursery school personnel to "report" toddlers they identified as being at risk of being influenced or recruited by terrorists.

Kids on terror lists

The UK's Telegraph further reported:

Nursery school staff and registered childminders must report toddlers at risk of becoming terrorists, under counter-terrorism measures proposed by the Government.

The directive is contained in a 39-page consultation document issued by the Home Office in a bid to bolster its Prevent anti-terrorism plan. ...

The document accompanies the Counter-Terrorism and Security Bill, currently before parliament. It identifies nurseries and early years childcare providers, along with schools and universities, as having a duty "to prevent people being drawn into terrorism".

Now, several months later, The Independent reports that a three-year-old from London has been placed in the government's anti-extremism program, joining hundreds of other young people who are considered potential terrorists.

"Many of the government's counter-extremism measures typically relate to older children and adults - bu[t] very young children can be referred if authorities are concerned about the effect of their families on them," The Independent reported.

Yet, while British authorities are busy placing toddlers on terrorist "watch lists" as a way of protecting the public, the government goes out of its way to protect sexual predators and pedophiles.

Regarding child sexual predators, The Daily Beast (DB) reported in March that the government of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, in the 1980s, covered up a VIP pedophile ring involving top government officials.

The DB report began thusly:

A newspaper editor was handed startling evidence that Britain's top law enforcement official knew there was a VIP pedophile network in Westminster, at the heart of the British government. What happened next in the summer of 1984 helps to explain how shocking allegations of rape and murder against some of the country's most powerful men went unchecked for decades.

Though the editor was summarily threatened by a minister of Parliament to hand over the documents, he did not; the papers "appeared to show that Leon Brittan, Margaret Thatcher's Home Secretary, was fully aware of a pedophile network that included top politicians," the DB reported.

Serial pedophilia unpunished

As reported further by The Guardian, that editor and others at a separate newspaper were warned by the British government not to publish any information regarding the network because it was deemed a matter of "national security."

"One executive said he had been accosted in his office by 15 uniformed and two non-uniformed police over a dossier on Westminster paedophiles passed to him by the former Labour cabinet minister Barbara Castle," the paper reported in online editions. "The other said that his newspaper had received a D-notice when a reporter sought to write about a police investigation into Elm Guest House, in southwest London, where a group of high-profile paedophiles was said to have operated and may have killed a child."

Finally, there is the case of "Sir" Jimmy Savile, a longtime and very popular personality at the BBC. As reported by The New York Times in October 2012, British authorities believed Savile may have had as many as 200 victims; he died before ever being made to account for his actions.

No worries though, citizens of Britain: Your government is keeping its eye on all your "extremist" three-year-olds.
