These simple physical signs could indicate a nutrient deficiency

Nutrient deficiency

Most Viewed Articles

(NaturalNews) It's wise to consult a holistic physician, chiropractor, orthomolecular (mega-dose supplements instead of pharmaceuticals) practitioner, naturopath or other holistic practitioner who is conversant with nutritional health if you're feeling "blah," not with it or in poor health.

But in lieu of those resources, there are some telltale guidelines that may help you determine which areas you need to supplement more. Of course, one needs to stay away from the standard American diet of processed and fast foods and instead eat locally grown, chemical-free organic food as much as possible.

Some plant foods may be cost-prohibitive. Then at least use the Earth Working Group (EWG) to determine what conventional crops are the least chemically sprayed to buy. Organic dairy products should be from non-rBGH- or antibiotic-injected grass-fed cows, goats or sheep.

Raw milk is the healthiest, as are truly free-range chicken eggs. Minimize meat and stick with organic grass-fed cows humanely treated and not injected with hormones and antibiotics. All this may be pricier, but isn't your health more valuable?

Physical signs of nutritional deficiencies

As with foods, your supplement choices should be as high quality as possible. Do your research on product choices.

Heart: Irregular heart beat may indicate a magnesium deficiency. High blood pressure can be remedied with lots of ascorbic acid and L-lysine daily. General heart health can be bolstered with CoQ10 or Ubiquinol.

Here's a comprehensive coverage of heart health herbs and supplements for heart health. And there's of a breakdown of the herbs in that last article here.

Thyroid: A swollen throat, poor or slow digestion, and general sluggishness from hypothyroidism may be improved by adding iodine supplements or iodine-rich foods from seaweed.

Red scaly skin on face near nose: This may be a sign of vitamin B2 (riboflavin) deficiency. Supplement with B-complex vitamins or organic bee pollen granules. Make sure you're eating enough whole grains, eggs and dairy. Plant-based foods include spinach, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, avocados and nuts. B2 helps activate the other B vitamins.

Mouth and tongue: Pale fissured tongue -- iron deficiency; sore painful fissured tongue -- vitamin B3 (niacin) deficiency; sore burning tongue and lips or lips peeling -- vitamin B2 deficiency; painful sore tongue with a smooth appearance -- folate (B-9) deficiency -- try to avoid synthetic folic acid.

Nails: White spots or ridges usually indicate low zinc. Soft or brittle nails usually demonstrate a magnesium deficiency.

Low energy, anemia: Vitamin B12 is the go-to vitamin for these signs. Make sure that you use methylcobalamin sublingual tablets or skin patches only and include the other B vitamins as well.

Skin: Cold hands doesn't always indicate a "warm heart." It can indicate hypothyroidism (iodine deficiency) or low magnesium levels. Excessive of spontaneous bleeding can be from insufficient vitamin C and/or vitamin K.

The Medical Mafia uses the media, warning against supplements to scare you off

A war on supplements is being waged by the real quacks who run the medical mafia, such as vaccine-pushing patent holder for rotavirus vaccine, Merck representative and FDA vaccine consultant Dr. Paul Offit, author of Do You Believe in Magic? The Sense and Nonsense of Alternative Medicine, who recently stated, "I can't believe anyone would put a megavitamin in their mouth. It's frightening."

But shooting 1,000 vaccines into a baby in one day as he once proclaimed after amending his initial statement of 100,000 vaccines is okay, right doc? Dr. Russel Blaylock, a retired neurosurgeon and author of Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills and other books, openly challenged Offit to get off it and take in all those vaccinations scheduled for children publicly to see what happens.

A large collected pool of money was offered if Offit took the challenge. Of course he never did.

Yes, there are different quality levels of vitamin and mineral supplements. But if you visit the orthomolecular website, you'll see how the right supplements at the right amounts can replace pharmaceuticals. No wonder the Medical Mafia wants to keep you away.
