(NaturalNews) Nearly every pregnancy and health advocacy group in the nation, including Consumer Reports, (1) advises pregnant women to avoid consuming products like canned tuna fish that contain high levels of neurotoxic mercury. But the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has released new guidelines urging pregnant women to get their seasonal flu shots, even though these vaccines often contain up to 25,000 times more inorganic mercury in the form of thimerosal than the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) maximum contaminant levels for drinking water. (2)

In a recent statement, ACOG stressed its opinion that flu shots are vital for women who are trying to become pregnant. The group says it is more important that women get jabbed with high levels of mercury, formaldehyde, aborted fetal tissue and in some cases actual live flu virus, than to risk developing pneumonia, going into premature labor or otherwise suffering from the health effects of contracting the flu. (3)

ACOG ignores science; says flu shots are safer than ever

Since ACOG issued its last flu shot recommendations back in 2010, the group says that more evidence has emerged to show that flu shots are completely safe for pregnant women. The group not only advocates for women to get jabbed in order to prevent the flu but also claims that doing so will help women have better pregnancies.

"New data show the continued critical need for influenza vaccination during pregnancy," alleges ACOG's new guidelines.

This is curious, as our own 2011 investigation into flu vaccines found that they don't actually work as claimed, and that only about 1.5 out of every 100 adults who receive one will avoid getting the flu. (4) This is an utterly dismal success rate, yet ACOG and others would have us all believe that science is somehow in their favor, and that flu vaccines actually do work.

Flu vaccines have never been safety tested on pregnant mothers

In fact, there is no evidence whatsoever to show that flu vaccines are safe for pregnant women, as no studies have ever been conducted. This makes ACOG's claims nothing but hearsay at best, and deceit at worst. The package inserts for flu vaccines openly admit this, but few practitioners or consumers actually read them.

"Safety and effectiveness of Fluzone Quadrivalent have not been established in pregnant women or children less than 6 months of age," reads one popular flu vaccine package insert obtained from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by Health Impact News. (5)

In other words, ACOG's safety claims concerning flu shots for pregnant women are disingenuous, having no basis in reality or science. If pregnant women take this group's advice, they will be inadvertently subjecting themselves to a barrage of mercury that, in the case of GlaxoSmithKline's FluLaval vaccine, is the highest in any consumer product ever tested by Natural News. (2)

"[T]he concentration of mercury found in this GSK flu shot was 100 times higher than the highest level of mercury we've ever tested in contaminated fish," discovered Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, when conducting ICP-MS forensics testing on the FluLaval flu shot. "And yet vaccines are injected directly into the body, making them many times more toxic than anything ingested orally."
