Robin Williams found dead in apparent suicide after 'battling depression' - fans grieve over tragic loss

(NaturalNews) Beloved actor and world-class comedian Robin Williams died today in an apparent suicide by asphyxiation. As the Hollywood Reporter wrote today: (1)
the Sheriff's Office Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made. A forensic examination is currently scheduled for August 12, 2014 with subsequent toxicology testing to be conducted.
Williams' publicist Mara Buxbaum also told the Reporter "He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss."
Natural News asks all readers to send prayers for Williams and the family and friends he left behind. Robin Williams was a shining beacon of courageous, independent thought who wasn't afraid to challenge the status quo of the bizarre world around him.
Personally, I have always enjoyed the work of Williams, and his death saddens me just as much as the previous deaths of George Carlin and Richard Pryor. I especially enjoyed Williams' role in the film Patch Adams.
It is not yet known exactly how Williams was treating depression or whether any medication was involved. Williams does reportedly have a history of substance addiction. "He recently checked into a renewal center in an effort to maintain his sobriety," wrote the Hollywood Reporter.
