(NewsTarget) In this next article in the six healing sounds series, we're going to take a look at the fifth of these sounds, the spleen sound. This sound has many positive benefits, including helping to ease a number of stomach and digestion related disorders.

Since we live in a world that is filled with fast food, convenience foods and other low quality foods, we find that indigestion and other stomach related issues are becoming a daily problem in our lives. The highly processed and enzyme dead foods that we consume are a major cause of these digestive issues.

So how can the spleen sound help with digestive issues? The Chinese long ago discovered the power of vibrational energies and learned how to utilize various sounds produced by the voice to help remove excess heat energy from the internal organs. Excess heat energy is a cause of a large number of minor and major diseases, so anything that can help cool down the organs can be of great value in overcoming disease.

The power of sound was first realized through the observance of animals and nature. The Chinese believed strongly that nature (the Tao) was a storehouse of great wisdom and knowledge. They keenly observed nature and understood through empirical observations that each sound made by animals had a vital and necessary purpose.

With these sound principles firmly rooted in Chinese culture, medical doctors were able to see further correlations between their patients' illnesses and the different sounds of distress that they made during the course of their disease. For example, they noticed that all patients who had certain illnesses whose origins were traced to a particular organ, regardless of the symptoms present, always made the same sounds of distress regardless of what language they spoke.

It was from this and other studies that they concluded that these sounds were the body's attempt to purge itself of excess fire and impure energies to help restore its yin/yang balance.

Causes of Indigestion

Excess fire energies in the spleen have become all too common in modern society. If we insist on surviving on a diet that is loaded with artificial agents, and on food that is enzyme, vitamin and nutritionally dead, then we will cause the body to use up far more of its natural enzymes than intended.

When this happens, the stomach has to work harder than usual to digest these foods. It is this extra digestive work on the part of the stomach that causes a greater amount of excess heat energy to be generated during the digestion process. Hydrogenated oils are a particular offender in this regard since it is very hard for the body to digest and assimilate these unnatural oils.

In Chinese medicine the stomach and spleen are a powerful example of linked organ pairs. If the stomach is under great stress causing it to become weakened or more yin, its paired organ (the spleen) will often become more yang. It is this flare up of excess fire energies that often leads to indigestion and can eventually lead to other more serious digestive disorders.

Learning how to release these excess fire energies from the stomach/spleen energy system can go a long way to relieving indigestion, ulcers and other diseases of the digestive tract.

The spleen is associated with the pancreas and stomach. Its element is the earth; its season is Indian summer. Negative emotions are worry, sympathy and pity; positive emotions are compassion, fairness and creating music. Its color is yellow.

In previous installments in this series we covered the first four of these healing sounds for the lungs, kidneys, liver and heart. The links for each of those articles are listed below.

The Spleen Sound

To perform the spleen sound, we are first going to become aware of the spleen and feel the spleen and mouth connect. This is done because the mouth is the opening associated with the spleen and stomach.

Take a deep breath, then exhale and make the sound Whoooooooooooooo. Remember that the sound should be made softly or even "sub vocally" which is characterized by movement of the lips or other speech organs without making audible sounds.

Inhale and breathe deeply into the spleen, pancreas and stomach while imagining a bright yellow light with the qualities of fairness, compassion and musical creation entering them. Repeat this sound 3 to 6 times.

If you are experiencing indigestion, nausea, diarrhea or wish to detoxify the spleen, then perform this sound 9 to 36 times. This sound is more effective and healthier than using antacids. This is the only sound that can be done immediately after eating.

The spleen sound is similar but different from the kidney sound. This sound is similar to the sound that an owl makes. The "who, who" sound of an owl which is shorter in duration is the basic foundation of the spleen sound. Now take that same sound and extend the "oooooooo" part out to the duration of the exhalation to make it the "whooooooooooooo" sound.

The kidney sound "wuuuuuuuuuuuuu" has the emphasis on the "u" as in the word "you".

The next and final sound in this series will cover a critical energy regulation system called "The Triple Burner" (Circulation sex meridian). This energy system helps to balance energies in the upper, middle and lowers "burners" in the body.

This sound helps to balance this energy control system, and because it affects so many critical organs it can have a powerful impact on the health of the entire body. It can even be used to help regulate and slow down the heartbeat itself. This will be further explained in the next article.
