Orthophosphoric acid may serve as an alternative to apple juice. The article recommends taking about 30 drops of either daily for three to four days. After the initial dose, users may increase the dosage to 50 drops daily for 10 more days. Patients are also encouraged to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated during the pre-detoxification period. It is recommended to time the detox date during a new moon day, as the body tends to retain more fluids during a full moon day.

It is recommended that patients stay at home during the actual day of cleansing as bathroom activities are expected to increase. In the morning of the cleanse, patients are encouraged to drink as much as 32 ounces of apple juice. Patients may eat a light breakfast, but should avoid any type of sugar, dairy, animal protein, or fats. However, fasting provides the best results. It is also recommended that patients drink a solution containing four tablespoons of Epsom salt in 24 ounces of drinking water. The mixture should be divided into four six-oz. servings, with the first two servings taken at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. At 9:45 p.m., the patients should combine a separate eight-oz. Epsom salt solution with grapefruit juice and olive oil and drink it by 10:00 p.m. The next morning, patients may drink the two remaining six-oz. solutions at 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. By this time, patients may eat small, healthy meals. Throughout the day, patients will have repeated trips to the bathroom to purge the stones. The stones may manifest as small, greenish pea-sized crystals in the stool.

After the initial excretion of gallstones, the patients are discouraged to eat dairy and fatty foods for another three or four days. The patients should stay hydrated and continue eating healthily after the cleansing process. Patients may repeat the cleanse every month until no more gallstones can be detected.
