Vaccines have never damaged a child, but homeopathy's 'side effects' could kill you, claim pro-vaccine government "experts"

(NaturalNews) Duplicitous is probably the best descriptor for how the federal government treats "unconventional" medical treatments like homeopathy. On the one hand, authorities would have us all believe that homeopathic remedies are just inert water when it comes to their efficacy; on the other, we're told that such treatments might be "dangerous" and could cause "side effects."

But you can't have it both ways; either homeopathy is just harmless water or it's actually medicine. You can't just casually claim both and maintain a reasonable argument, in other words. But this seems to be the official position of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which recently issued a warning about homeopathic remedies for asthma urging the public not to use them because the agency hasn't evaluated them.

It's one thing to claim that homeopathy simply doesn't work -- if this is true and it's little more than water, then people using it isn't that big of a deal from a public health perspective. But the FDA apparently now believes that homeopathy is somehow dangerous, even though the agency previously claimed that homeopathy is no different from a placebo.

The "Consumer Warning" issued by the FDA about homeopathic remedies for asthma reads as follows:

"These products have not been evaluated by the FDA for safety and effectiveness. ... Healthcare professionals and patients are encouraged to report adverse events or side effects related to the use of these products to the FDA's MedWatch Safety Information and Adverse Event Reporting Program."

Which is it, FDA: Is homeopathy just water or is it medicine?

The implication here is that homeopathy might harm some people and cause "adverse events or side effects" even though it's just water, according to the FDA. This clearly makes no sense, but neither does much of what the FDA claims about natural healing protocols for which it hasn't yet extorted "user fees" in exchange for sacramental approval as "safe and effective."

Recognizing that homeopathy is growing in popularity as a medicine despite its lack of FDA approval, the FDA also recently held hearings on whether or not homeopathy should be regulated like conventional drugs. This would only be possible if the FDA actually recognized homeopathy as having therapeutic benefits, which up until this point the agency has not.

"The two dominant criticisms made against homeopathic remedies are antithetical to each other," commented Brian Shilhavy for Health Impact News. "Critics complain that due to a lack of regulation homeopathic remedies are dangerous, but then they turn around and say that homeopathic remedies are simply useless sugar pills with no therapeutic effect whatsoever, and no better than a placebo."

Homeopathy is widely accepted throughout Europe and Asia; why won't American medicine drop the hate?

Meanwhile, vaccines that have been proven to cause irreparable harm in some children -- most of them admit this right in their manufacturer-issued package insert! -- are regarded as completely safe and effective. Healthcare professionals and consumers aren't encouraged to report any adverse events or side effects associated with vaccines to government authorities because vaccines can't cause harm, we're told by politicians who are paid with tax dollars while committing perjury. But if you take a sugar pill or water dilution labeled "homeopathy," watch out!

Homeopathy isn't just a placebo, of course. Its benefits are well-known, especially in places like France where nearly half the public has used a homeopathic medicine at some point during their lives. Nearly 40% of French physicians, in fact, admit to prescribing homeopathic remedies to their patients, so something must be working!
