Western medicine is 'acute care' and doesn't 'care' about long-term health

(NaturalNews) Masking health problems with pharmaceuticals is the American way and enables people to eat all the wrong foods and basically drive their health off a cliff.

The "acute care" problem
Basic education about food as medicine is non-existent in grade schools across America. The curriculum cannot criticize genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or the schools would be criticizing 90% of their own cafeteria food. So, when kids get sick and run a fever, have a panic attack, get the "throwing up virus" or develop extreme allergies to foods, you can bet that allopathic ACUTE care won't work. Taking an antihistamine and decongestant won't solve these issues. Taking penicillin or amoxicillin won't change a thing. Getting periodic flu shots and vaccines won't change anything, either. It makes it all worse. In fact, most of these medications are in the fluoridated tap water anyway, the water that kids drink from public water fountains. Maintaining adequate physical activity and psychosocial functioning requires eating normal, organic food that contains nutrients and drinking spring water. Instead, the kids of today are eating GMOs, MSG and Aspartame; drinking tap water and putting chemicals on their skin daily, not knowing that their doctor will not be able to heal them of anything, unless that doctor happens to be a naturopathic physician.

Acute care for children eating GMOs at school daily
Healthy school food coalitions exist. These coalitions want to get genetically modified food out of school cafeterias. They know the dangers, but the pseudo-science of biotech and Big Agriculture is tricky and even school curriculums and Disney push GMOs as beneficial to feeding the world and helping with food shortages. Food shortages won't exist, however, when everyone is dying of cancer from eating pesticides. Kids are rushed by their parents to emergency rooms and 24/7 clinics for allergic reactions to food pathogens and exposure to e-coli and salmonella. They have bacterial infections, viruses and fungi from the toxic foods that they eat regularly. Doctors are quick to prescribe pharmaceuticals and even operate on organs that support digestion or toxin processing as problems persist. These actions weaken the human being as a whole and make people MORE susceptible to infections, disease and disorders.

Chronic disease control and prevention
Disease prevention is a lifestyle, not a medicine or even the lack thereof. Less than 100 years ago, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, arthritis, heart disease, osteoporosis, strokes and diabetes were rarities in America. However, today, the processed food industry has driven us to the brink to the point where every third person is dying from something of the like. Children today will have to battle cancer their entire lives and disease prevention will need to take place at every meal and with every drink, not to mention with every personal care product that they may put on their skin, teeth, hair or nails.

Chronic diseases can be controlled, according to a thesis written by a recent graduate of Naturopathic Medicine at Arizona State University. The rapid rise of chronic diseases began in the 1940s and 1950s. Thanks to industrialization and poor waste disposal systems, combined with a lack of filtered public water supplies, infectious diseases began to spread. However, before this spread, indigenous remedies and Chinese medicine beat back infectious diseases. So, what happened? Big Pharma happened. Chronic diseases are the new "serial" killers. With multiple risk factors, such as genetics and chemical-laden food, the solution lives in the patient's lifestyle changes to eating healthier, increasing exercise and quitting unhealthy habits.

Cancer has roots
Today, we have more industry and improper waste disposal, from hospitals dumping medical waste in rivers, lakes and oceans to chemical and metal factories dumping toxins onto the land and into irrigation and aquifers. We have an agricultural industry that puts pesticides inside the seeds of the most common vegetables that Americans eat and then sprays 10 times the amount of herbicides that the once edible plant itself is now immune to. Who is measuring how much of this stuff we eat? This eating "habit" requires a whole different type of management than infectious diseases because it requires a filtering on the front end of the problem. If you eat poison all day, you can't just take (lab-made) medicine and wait for it to work. Herein lies the problem.

Herbal medicine and superfoods: legitimate healing
What can you do to manage or even reverse chronic diseases? You can't just eat what you desire (junk) and expect to take a pill to quell the effects of the toxins in your body. Many people crave sugar, but what their bodies really want is organic honey. Many people crave salt, but what their bodies really need is minerals from the Dead Sea. People crave chocolate, but what they really want is magnesium. Education is key.
