(NaturalNews) Just four episodes in and Alec Baldwin's new weekly show Up Late With Alec Baldwin has been officially cancelled from the MSNBC lineup. According to reports, the actor struck a major chord with the network after allegedly screaming gay-related obscenities at a photographer, as well as unleashing a tirade in reference to a woman with cancer who was purportedly occupying a dressing room to which he wanted access.

PageSix.com reports that Baldwin's run-in with the photographer, who hails from the New York Post (NYP), was essentially the straw that broke the camel's back in a long line of offenses. Allegations claim that Baldwin was initially suspended from his show for two weeks after screaming vulgarities at the man, followed by the word "faggot," which riled up gay-rights groups and prompted MSNBC to part ways with the eldest of the four Baldwin brothers.

"We are jointly confirming that 'Up Late' will not continue on MSNBC," confirmed Baldwin's spokesman Matthew Hiltzik and an MSNBC representative in a recent joint statement. "This is a mutual parting and we wish Alec all the best."

Baldwin allegedly rails against woman with cancer

But the 30 Rock star's late-night show had apparently been bombing since its start, which made the complaints filed by gay rights groups an even more opportune excuse for MSNBC to drop it, and Baldwin, from the network. It also didn't help that Baldwin allegedly made careless and cruel remarks in reference to a woman with cancer, lashing out in a similar but unrelated fit of rage.

According to reports, Baldwin alienated his colleagues on 30 Rock after demanding a separate dressing room that was occupied by a woman with cancer who was apparently sensitive to the chemicals used in hairspray. After being denied his request to have the room, Baldwin allegedly began to scream at the top of his lungs, "I don't give a f--- if she has cancer or not, I want that f------ makeup room!"

Baldwin denies that he was ever even made aware of the woman's condition, and insists that he did not use the phrase "I don't give a f---" in reference to the situation. But witnesses say Baldwin's behavior was, indeed, offensive, and that this was hardly the only time that he has lashed out in a fit of anger. According to the NYP, Baldwin allegedly freaked out another time on the set of 30 Rock because of dry air, upon which he demanded a humidifier.

"I didn't ask for a humidifier," claims Baldwin. "I asked for humidification. So we had a day where ... my voice would crack, it was heavily air conditioned, I found it tough to talk. I did not demand someone put a humidifier in."

'Fundamentalist gays' killed my show, says Baldwin

Concerning his homophobic rant against the NYP photographer, Baldwin ultimately blames "the fundamentalist wing of gay advocacy" for "killing his show" on MSNBC. However, at the same time he admits that he needs to take some responsibility for his own behavior and how it may have led up to this series of unfortunate events for his career.

Television personality and comedian Joan Rivers came to Baldwin's defense, recently spilling her own ironic tirade to quell some of the outrage. Purposely using words offensive to gays, Jews, blacks, Italians and others, Rivers told everybody to "just relax," noting that "everybody's something, so why don't we all just calm down?"
