(NaturalNews) One week ago we announced the winners of our Video Recipe Contest on NaturalNews.TV (https://www.naturalnews.com/030095_recipes_vi...). The award checks have been sent out and all the prize products are on the way to these winners from Boku Superfood (www.BokuSuperfood.com) and Global Health Center (www.GlobalHealingCenter.com).

We caught up with the three winners to get their comments on the contest and their winning video recipes!

1st place: Sarah Pope, the Healthy Home Economist

http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=967368E535E6BA...

I am very humbled to have won the competition because there is no way I could have done it without the loyal support of the readers of my blog (http://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com) as well as the amazing support of other bloggers in my Real Food niche.

I will be donating my winnings to the Weston A. Price Foundation (http://www.westonaprice.org), which is primarily responsible for providing the information I needed to change my health from terrible to fantastic almost 10 years ago. My primary inspiration to live a healthy lifestyle and pass on what I have learned over the years through my blog are my 3 children. You will do for your children what you would never do for yourself in many cases!

My video recipe is actually an adaptation of the mayo recipe from Nourishing Traditions Cookbook, by Sally Fallon, who also just happens to be the President of the Weston A. Price Foundation.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to compete in this fun contest!

2nd place: Allan Hall from New Zealand

I feel good about getting information out there that gives people another perspective of what other people actually sustain themselves on, say like this recipe for my breakfast. It's pretty much how I start the day every day.

Since I filmed this I am adding some powdered cracked wall organic Chlorella, a heap of spinach or other greens that are available into the mix (and that day of filming I missed the Turmeric).

Life inspired me to have a healthy lifestyle. We are blessed with this moment is time to do with what we like, so it pays to cherish the opportunity that we have and looking after the Body, Mind just seems logically like the right thing to do. It makes life easier in all ways and it really comes down to just an informed choice.

What inspired me to come up with this "awesome" recipe is having an awareness of what is going on in the food chain, through the great work that guys like Mike and others are doing spreading the word. I wanted to come up with something that was sustainable , quick to make, highly nutritious, had loads of vitamins, minerals from mixed natural food sources, with as little pesticide as possible, had a bit of living food enzymes, with being relatively low in sugars (includes fruit sugars), helped with digestion, most of all easy to consume and quick to clean up. Great for those whom are busy and want some quick food that packs some real punch and would sustain you even if you missed the next couple of meals.

This is my best shot to date and I've been having some sort of variation of it for the last 6 years. It started out as straight Spirulina Powder in water and evolved to this.

I would like to thank natural news for the great work they do. And [I plan to use the winnings] to keep financing the free yoga download that I have over at http://yoga.org.nz/yoga_vidoes.htm

It costs me a $200 bucks a month to give it way. It's in its fifth year. Doing my little part to
improve peoples' lives.

3rd place: Adam Aleshire

I am so excited to have won third place, but more importantly to be able to share this smoothie recipe with so many people. We have a recurring order with Boku Superfoods every month for their green superfood and super protein, so this will give us one free month!

I can't wait to see what type of products Global Healing Center offers. I must confess that I have not always lived a healthy lifestyle, and have struggled for many years with my weight. After yo-yo dieting for several years while still struggling with being overweight, I finally realized that in order to take the weight off permanently, I would have to change my entire lifestyle and way of thinking.

A few years ago, I began listening to the Alex Jones Show and he promoted a few health items and websites, which is where I first learned of Natural News after hearing an interview with Mike Adams. From there, my wife and I began to research healthy living and found several online resources. Slowly, over the past few years, we have made gradual changes that have led us to where we are today - eating a mostly vegan diet, raw food, avidly exercising, and taking natural supplements when needed.

I am happy to say that I have now lost over 100 pounds and my wife has lost over 30 pounds; we have done this all naturally through changing our way of eating and exercising and we both feel like we are in the best shape of our life.

Natural News is one of my homepages that I read every day and have purchased several products from. As our healthful journey continues, we just purchased the Hurom slow juicer from Natural News a few weeks ago and have began experimenting with juice recipes. Perhaps we'll have one of these to share in the near future!

Thank you again for this opportunity to share our smoothie recipe and we are very appreciative of all the work Mike Adams does and the wonderful products he shares.

More video contest coming soon!

This recipe video contest was a huge success, and many tens of thousands of people were able to view and enjoy these healthy food recipes. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Next we're going to do a video contest in a completely different topic area -- perhaps something to do with Christmas and the holiday season, or maybe something about fitness around the New Year. We haven't decided yet but I'll keep you posted as soon as we know more.

In the mean time, please continue to enjoy all the free (and amazing!) videos on NaturalNews.TV!
