(NaturalNews) Continuing our article series on new raw foods, today we take a look at an exciting new raw, sprouted protein product from Sprout Living (www.SproutLiving.com). It's called Sproutein, and it's a (relatively) high-protein powder made almost entirely from freeze-dried sprouts.
The raw protein supplement market is simply exploding with consumer demand. As people learn about the benefits of plant-based proteins and raw foods, they're increasingly looking for raw, plant-based protein products that provide the nutrients they need to stay healthy and fit.

At the Raw Spirit Fest, I was handed the very first sample of this product, along with a hot-off-the-press label that I had to stick on it myself! Most protein products are one dimensional and don't provide many phytonutrients. For starters, it's a bit on the gritty site. I recommend blending it with a smoothie rather than just stirring it into water. The taste is quite nice if you're really into hard-core raw foods nutrition. I loved it. But for regular folks, this product is too green-tasting and intense. For example, each day I blend up a fresh batch of raw food juices. I blend organic celery, carrots, kale, parsley, citrus fruits and berries into a delicious RAW green smoothie. If I were traveling and blending up food in a hotel room, I would obviously have to go with just the straight powders, and that's fine for a few days, but I always get back to fresh, raw juices as quickly as possible.
