The number of homosexual Danes infected by HIV is currently increasing drastically and has reached a record-high.
In 2002, there were 92 new HIV infections among gay men.
In 2003, this had increased to 114, and last year there were 159 new infections among men who have had sex with other men.
"This is pretty serious and may mark the beginning of another flare-up of the disease," said a spokesman for the Stop-Aids organisation.
Last year, health authorities campaigned intensely to make more people take an AIDS test and this could be one of the reasons for the recent flare-up.
But another reason could be that medical advances which have made it possible for people diagnosed with HIV and AIDS to live longer have also made some gays take more chances.
