Web's Biggest, which claims to search more Web sites than Google, Yahoo and Microsoft, now allows users to change the descriptions of Web sites.
This lets individual searches potentially change search results returned to all other users.
Web's Biggest is unlike other more popular browsers offered by the likes of Google.
Web's Biggest is a "wiki," a collaborative software that enables users to collectively author Web documents.
It returns results based on the information inputted by its user community.
Data from its spiders is included in a summary field that describes what a Web site contains.
Web's Biggest search engine warehouses all past descriptions of Internet sites in a database that can be revised at will.
While some claim this does not entitle the site to call itself a "search engine," it does make Web's Biggest the world's biggest wiki.
Company spokesperson, Adam Radly, said, "Letting users rewrite search results has its dangers.
But having thousands of 'editors' is also what makes this search engine unique.
The company says the collective nature of World's Biggest is in fact beneficial and returns superior search results.
A random search page has been set up on the site, inviting anyone to see for themselves the superior results it can provide.
What allows Web's Biggest to return very large query results is its ability to search almost every Web site in the world, because of having licensed the entire, publicly available, Whois Database of more than 40 million domain names.
Other search engines rely on hyperlinks and manual submissions to find Web sites.
