Whole Foods interrogates, intimidates 70-year-old woman who accidentally forgot to ring up some cheese

by Jennifer Lea Reynolds

(NaturalNews) It used to be that people were only irritated at Whole Foods' steep prices, which elicited frowns and plenty of jokes. For example, individuals often refer to the store as "Whole Paycheck" instead of its actual name. These days, however, consumer concerns involve much more than dishing out big bucks for grub.

After all, Whole Foods and violent, unfair treatment of customers seem to go hand in hand, along with mass deception in which consumers are led to believe they sell only natural foods. Let's first take a look at the irrational actions and violence they unleash at the drop of a dime.

When 70-year-old Margaret Dooley of Maplewood, New Jersey accidentally forgot to pay for some cheese that was hiding underneath her purse, Whole Foods security personnel took harsh, swift action. The Millburn-Union New Jersey store's security team interrogated the woman and even went so far as to take her photograph her and ban her from Whole Foods. With so much happening in the world today, we've got some bozos bent on treating a woman who purchased $60 worth of food and made a genuine mistake like a hardcore criminal.

It's insane.

Don't forget your cheese: Whole Foods employs violent, over-reactive people

It should be noted that the NJ store's security personnel who acted so inappropriately towards Dooley have since been fired after the October 4, 2015 incident. According to spokesman Michael Sinatra, the firm that was contracted at that Whole Foods location was "removed and replaced."

Nevertheless, the firing doesn't make the situation right. In fact, the Millburn-Union location's Facebook page has become loaded with furious consumers, many of them swearing off shopping at Whole Foods ever again.

"I will not longer be shopping at your store until this no tolerance policy is changed," said one FB user in reference to the Dooley incident.

In response, Whole Foods stated, "Thanks for your comment. Loss prevention is an unfortunate necessity in retail. At Whole Foods Market, we strive to achieve the right balance between loss prevention and fostering a welcoming, friendly environment in all our stores. This is an unfortunate incident and we have reached out to the shopper directly to make things right. We are also having discussions with the loss prevention company at this store to ensure they clearly understand our expectations when it comes to our customers."

You can read this and many other comments, most of which reside in response to the store's recipe postings or discussions of Pumpkin Spice Lattes, here.

As for Whole Foods' "friendly environment" comment, there's a lot of convincing to be done.

After all, another Whole Foods – this time in Oakland, California – was involved in unnecessary force against a consumer, this time violently and with racial overtones. Witnesses say that a black man was beaten for no apparent reason by a Whole Foods security guard, put in a chokehold and repeatedly slammed against concrete pillars until he was left unconscious in a pool of blood. That security guard has been said to have been fired after this recent incident.

Checks, GMO lies, and videotape

Then there's the Whole Mess of store employees who are trained to be liars about the quality of foods they sell.

They enter such a work environment happy to be associated with the healthy food mantra the chain appears to be aligned with, only to learn that quite the opposite is true. The store prides itself on providing people with good choices, when in reality, its shelves are lined with additives and GMOs.

One undercover video sheds light on this deception, detailing how the store's foods are laced with pesticides and are anything but healthy. For example, it mentions how the salad bars are filled with packaged foods and meats and that the store's own line of vitamins likely contains GMOs.

Can anyone say, "Monsanto partnerships" and "siding with biotech folks"?

To learn more about GMOs and how they destroy overall health, as well as mainstream media's biotech-loving stance, read GMO safety and research truths here.

As Mike Adams recently wrote about the entire Whole Foods debacle, "wake up and smell the rooibos tea, okay?"

Seriously, it's time for large corporations and stores to provide people with products that keep their good health in mind instead of resorting to tactics (both with consumers and foods) that are deliberately harmful.
